Samantha was trying to breathe but it seemed as if breathing was too hard to do at the moment. The breath was caught in her throat. She felt herself starting to have a panic attack. They had to be lying, this couldn't be true. It just couldn't.

Then it dawned on her, what did Matthew Bowden have to do with any of this?

"Okay. Before I even get on that subject. What does Bowden have to do with this?" Sam clasped her hands on her lap as she squeeze them to keep calm.

No one spoke. Her mother had her lips in a thin line as if she smelled something vulgar. Her father sat with a scowl that could put the devil to shame. Bowden on the other hand, was sitting so calmly it sent the fire inside her, that was started out small, over the boiling point. Samantha turned completely so that she was facing Matthew, since he was so cool calm and collected and she asked him.

Cocking her head to the side she asked in a sickeningly sweet voice, "So what do you have to say about all this Matthew?"

"I'd rather talk to you in private instead of getting put on trial by your parents. If you want my side of things you can give me a call when you're ready." Was all Bowden said and with that he got up, grabbed his coat and proceeded to leave the apartment.

Sam's mouth dropped open and she couldn't believed what just happened. Honestly she couldn't believe anything that just happened. Right now all she wanted to was be alone. Fighting the tears she so desperately wanted to break free, she politely asked her parents to leave so that she could think.

They understood and to her to call when ready. She kissed them goodbye and sent them on their way.

Sam went on to the kitchen to ,clean up the dishes from dinner, and to grab a tub of pistachio ice cream. She drowned her new found information in the ice cream until she went to sleep.

The next morning Sam called out of work and decided to skip school. As much as she wanted what she learned from last night to go away, she knew she had to face it sooner or later. For her sooner would be better. All last night she vowed to herself not to talk to Bowden ever again she couldn't help but wonder what his involvement in her personal life was.

Determined to get her life to an normal point, well as normal as it can get, she got dressed and headed out. By the end of the day she will know everything she needed to know about her life.
