'Study successful book's titles to see how effective titles work'
This means that you should look at those books which are quite successful and learn from them.
A successful book will have more than a thousand reads and their title and cover will just hook you up and make you want to read the book.
Studying the title doesn't not mean just to have a look at it. It means that you should also correlate the title of the book with the description of the book. Look at the way it relates and learn from it. Learn the ways that the writer has used the title and in what reference.
This method is even more helpful if you've read the book. Well, you don't actually have to read the book just to study the title but I'm just saying that if you've read the book then it'll be much easier to study the title and it's contexts.
After reading the book try to justify the title. Example: why was this title used? How does this title make sense with the context of the book?
This method is often known as ' Title Justification'. If you are able to find a good justification of the title being used, then that means that the book was successful in making you realise the importance of the usage of the title.
