"Hundreds" He continiued. "Next full moon" None of these words were interesting to me except for one "Prometheus" Which sent a chill down my spine.
If I remember correctly the Prometheus pack were kidnapping and experimenting on other members of different packs so they could access all wolf abilities. The things they did to those poor werewolves were unhuman and I don't even wish that on my worst enemy, let along innocent men, women and children.
The tales about Prometheus are truly horrifying, but they were supposed to be extinct, murdered by the alliance between all the packs from all of Saturn's moons, but it was led by the Atlas, Pandora and Calypso packs. They were the strongest packs amongst them all, but now Atlas is the only pack remaining on the top. Pandora and Calypso packs has their territories on the west side of Appendix, our land, "land of the wolves, land of the free, land of those who in the Lupus believe." On the west side, a rare decease has been spread and 12 packs are badly infected. It makes them unable to control their wolf ability and it could get so bad that they would kill their own just for the fun of it.
It is weird and has never happened before, deceases are uncommon among wolves especially one like this. I also think it has something to do about Prometheus' return. Those packs are weakened and since Atlas is now the strongest pack, they are coming for us.
The door opened and I panicked, so I pretended to just walk by and continued my way to the throne room.
"Princess Luna Grace!" Emerald said and bowed. "It's just Luna and no need to bow." She immediately got up and smiled. "Fair enough, Luna. Anyways, that isn't why I'm here. You are invited to a dinner party with the Methone pack. You know there has been some conflicts between our packs, but I believe the prince is interested in you, and if you make a good impression he might propose to you!" She continued babbling on about how handsome the prince was and how kind he was. I don't want to be married to some arrogant douche. I don't want to get married at all, I'm 15, but it's a tradition that princesses get married on their 16th birthday.
"Yes, I will be ready for your styling. I just need to take a shower and I'll be there at the salon." I answered her to make her stop talking. Don't get me wrong, I love Emerald she is like the older sister I never had, but sometimes she really needs to keep her mouth shut.
"Alright then, I'll see you later!" She said, and hugged me goodbye. I walked towards my room and when I got there, I started undressing and hopped into the shower.
I always shower with cold water, ice cold water because it is great practice to when you actually are on the front line battling in north of Appendix. I live in the east side where it is peaceful and mostly warm, but in north it is full on war with the coldest ice you will ever feel. It is believed to be Grace's protection barrier to prevent other wolf packs to harm the land and the packs there.
Grace was the leader of the Titan pack and trained them to handle the cold up there by making them freeze to death only by staying in the cold for less than 30 seconds. It seems impossible, but with the guidance of Grace, the Titan pack learned to channel a new ability, tolerance. They can handle any pain and any cold, almost like machines.
The water in the shower isn't as cold, but it helps me with my tolerance. Most people, like the elders, would say that what I'm doing is wrong and that there is a reason to why we can't channel those abilities that are extinct to us, doing so will provoke the gods, but I'm just trying to feel with them, not steal from them.
Knock, knock. Someone was knocking on the door, so I got out of the shower, I put on my white robe and then opened the door. "Emerald is looking for you, she said that she needed to style you now before it's too late." Dawn said. He looked pretty upset, but I don't believe it has anything to do about Prometheus.
"Yes, I was on my way actually. You are coming to the dinner party, right?" He nodded. He looked down to his feet, standing in a really awkward position, playing with his hands. "You know, you don't have to marry anyone yet." He finally said, after what felt like hours of silence. "Well, it's tradition so I kind of have to, you know." He took a deep breath and answered. "I know, but I want you to be happy, Lu." He gave me a gentle fist bump to my shoulder. I smiled and gave him a big hug. I sometimes really love my brother because under all that arrogance, attitude and confidence, he is my brother, alpha king to be and soon the only family I will have left.
I walked down the hallway and was greeted by everyone. "Princess Luna Grace Nova" And then a bow. It is really formal, I know and I do not like it. My last name is Nova because it is my father's name so I don't own the same last name as my father. It is tradition, just like 16th birthday wedding.
