Lunatic

I turned towards the throne where his body was minutes ago, but while I've been talking to Dawn, the servants took father's body to the morgue. One of our maids, Aragonite was trying to clean up the blood. Aragonite is yet another mineral.

"That's it, I'm going to murder everyone left from that pack of monsters!" Dawn yelled. He pulled his sword out of its scabbard with gold detailing and the pack's symbol. "Don't be stupid! They will murder you without any hesitation!" He put his sword back into the scabbard. "Do you want me to sit around and do nothing? I'm a warrior not a stupid delusional like you!" I was truly shocked. "You don't believe me." After everything we've been through his small mind still doesn't believe in the Lupus. He thinks I'm delusional, his own God damn sister! "This better be the sorrow talking and not you, Dawn!" I commanded. He looked at me with a look of disgust. Like I was a lunatic that deserved to be locked away for the sake of our people's safety.

"I might be crazy, but at least I'm not weak! You can never be the alpha, you'll screw us all over!" I said, but it wasn't me. It was a monster, I would never say that to him. He roared out of anger and pulled his sword out and so did I. He wanted to fight. People gathered around to watch, since I was fighting the alpha alone and fair they are vowed to not interfere. If I lost the fight, Dawn would have to either kill or banish me. This is not what father wanted, especially not because of him and his death.

I tried to channel my inner wolf once again. Strength, I thought to myself. Oh gods of Lupus, I beg you for your strength in this battle. He jabbed at me with his sword, but I blocked faster than usual. Fast enough to kick him in the leg right after. He moaned in pain, so I tried to strike, but he locked my sword. I twisted my whole body and got out of the grip and I hit Dawn in the head with the back of my sword. Seconds later, my foot was flying in the air and soon hit Dawn in the stomach. The kick was made with great force, enough to knock him to his feet and a couple meters more. He got up and that was when I noticed he was bleeding. He was exhausted, but I was barely getting started. I've never felt this powerful before, it felt great. He continued with his weak jabs that I immediately blocked. Out of nowhere I earned the speed of the Dione pack. I stroke several times faster than lightning and all the times I hit. I slashed into his broad chest as his blood was flying around in the room. I felt better than ever, like a victor. I felt glory until I realized what I've done.

"Luna Grace! What are you doing?!" Emerald yelled. She just got there and Gemini, too. I think Gemini was the one to bring Emerald here. They both ran over to down and helped get up to a chair.

"Luna Grace Nova, princess of Atlas has defeated the alpha! You shall take the crown and guide us to the right path!" General Pluto announced and bowed. "No, Dawn is the alpha." I declined. I know that we had just fought, but I don't want to be the alpha. It is my brother's right and has always been since his birth! "It's too late. You've defeated him so now you have to be him." I looked over at Dawn and he was furious, but not at me, at himself. This isn't fair! This isn't right! My head felt like it was about to explode!

Dawn ran out of the throne room in anger. I wanted to follow him, but I knew he didn't want my company so I looked over at Emerald, and she understood what I was trying to say just by the look on my face. She ran after him and left me here to deal with this. He put a crown on the top of my head and said some prayers in Latin.

After the ceremony I went after Dawn and Emerald. When I got to his room I stopped and tried to listen in on their conversation. "I know it hurts, Dawn." Emerald said. I heard sobbing coming from the room. My brother NEVER cries. What have I possibly done now? "I don't get it. I'm the undefeated! How could she fight like that? It doesn't make sense!" It does if he would've believed me and Lupus.  "When your sister was born, the goddess Grace spoke to your father and I. She said that your mother passed for Luna Grace to use her life form to feed on." Emerald explained. "Feed on what, exactly?" He'd stopped crying. "Her powers. In good hands she would become a saint and save us from Prometheus, but in bad ones she could possibly be the end of Appendix. That is the prophecy, but only half of it. The rest is going to be revealed on her 16th birthday by the goddess Luna."

Dawn didn't say anything, still processing. He believed Emerald for some reason, he always has. "What about me? Are they just going to screw me over?" He finally said something. "I'm not sure about that. They have not screwed you over in any way. Most people tell me that the crown is a burden, a curse rather than a symbol of power." Emerald said in attempt of encouragement. Dawn sighed. "I'm just happy I have you. You're the only family I have left, even though we don't share the same blood, you mean a lot to me, Emerald." I walked back to the throne room and looked into a mirror. I looked a complete mess with my hair all messy and my dress ripped and blood everywhere, mascara too. I should've worn waterproof, but I couldn't have known that my father was going to die today.

"Luna Grace, so you're the Alpha of atlas now?" An unfamiliar voice said from behind. I turned to see a boy my age with light brown hair, green eyes and big muscles. He also had manly, but well-groomed eyebrows. Does that ring a bell? "Asteroid? What a pleasure to meet you." He smiled. "Darling, the pleasure is all mine."
