Chapter 10:
Isabell’s P~O~V
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once we reach the beach Sabrina runs up to the shore.
“Does anyone know how to do this?” She asks nervously and turns around.
“You’re the daughter of Poseidon just try calling for him.” I answer hoping that it works.
If we don’t make it in time to Chicago the Titans would beat us and that would be very bad.
Alexa is standing next to me and gasps. I glance over to the shore to see that somehow Sabrina is riding a wave. She is on top of a 10 foot high wave and is sitting in a yoga position. Jem has a calm look on her face while the boys’ mouths are wide open and they are staring in awe. Sabrina seems to be enjoying herself.
“Oh my gosh!! This is so cool! Guys come over here. We need to get going.” Sabrina practically yells and pats the water next to her.
“Umm Sabrina, we can’t walk on water.” Nathan says a little too late as Jem starts walking up the wave.
The wave morphs its shape into a bunch of stairs. I begin to laugh and climb the stairs. The view on the top is magnificent with the forest looking as magestic as ever but there is no time to be wasted.
“How do you get us to Chicago on this thing?” Alexa says excited.
Sabrina closes her eyes and begins to chant something. She is focusing really hard with a little smile creeping on her face. Soon the water around our wave starts to ripple and change. The water turns from clear blue to blue green and soon enough the beautiful view is flickering from the forest to a scene with skyscrapers. Once the flickering stops I notice the view is oddly familiar. There is a small beach with buildings scraping the sky. There are people in boats but we are too far in the lake to notice any faces. On the right there is Navy Pier with a big Ferris wheel in the middle of the deck.
“Oh my goodness!! We’re on Lake Michigan!” I exclaim and hug Sabrina.
As soon as I do she loses focus and 7 kids fall into the lake. The water is cool and feels good after not swimming in a while. When I was little I used to be on the swim team. I stopped when I went to middle school because by them my dyslexia had me studying during all my free time.
“What was that for?” Sabrina says splashing me and giggling.
I splash her back and soon there are 7 kids in the middle of a lake having a water contest. The water seems to distract us for a little bit. I notice that Jem is looking at us like we are crazy. She seems to be determined to find the gold fish and bring it back to Camp Half-Blood.
“Guys! We need to focus and get to shore!” Jem screams at us.
We are still shocked from Jem’s outburst when Sabrina makes little waves surround us like a little whirl pool. The waves push us to shore. I am worried about people seeing us. Alexa reassures me that the mist will cover us up to make it look like there are only waves on the lake.
“What do we do now?” Will asks to no one in particular.
“We find the Goldfish.” I say walking towards the city.
