The pain in Marissa's head was a dull thump in comparison to the wrenching feeling in her shoulders and the tightness in her chest. She tried to move, and felt a burning sensation across her wrists. Nothing moved. That's when she napped her eyes open. Everything was a little blurry but that cleared up in a few seconds.

She was tied up, with rope, with her hands above her head and her feet bound together Whilst she sat wither her back against a wall. The wall belonged to a small barren shack with a single swinging bulb hanging from the ceiling. Randy was tied up on the opposite wall. He was back in his human form this time, and seemed to have been practically mummified, wrapped from the neck down in metal chains.

"Randy! Wake up!" She didn't care if anyone heard her. Randy looked way too pale for her liking from what she could see of him and his head hung limp against his chest. She kept screaming his name until she finally heard him groan.

"Randy, se non ti svegli in questo momento, ti ucciderò!"

"Still alive," he groaned again.

Marissa sighed in relief but it was short lived as her breath was cut off at the same time pain bloomed in her chest. She hissed in pain, but the door opened at that moment and her attention turned from Randy to the figures that stepped into the room.

From where she sat, the two men that stepped in looked huge. The first one was lean but still huge. She couldn't see much of his face since he moved in to seemingly check on Randy, turning his back on her. That left Marissa to take a look at the hulking brute left standing by the door. She couldn't tell how he'd fit through the door, probably stepped in sideways. Now he was scary, hard jaw and burning amber eyes.

Wait, amber eyes? Marissa took a long hard look, and found that the big man's eyes did indeed grow bright amber in the semi-darkness.

"What on earth is going on? Who are you people? You had better let us go," she warned. Although it probably sounded more like a squeak. Her chest ached, that tight feeling forcing the air out of her, making her short of breath.

The man checking on Randy moved to stand between them.

Cavalo....Marissa's brain sputtered. The man was beautiful. He was all broad shoulders and sleek movements as he moved closer and crouched before her. His dark hair blended in with his dark shirt and jeans. But it was his eyes that caught her attention. They were a weird glowing green, framed with thick black lashes and that sharp intelligence blaring through...such a pretty green. He was beautiful.

Ooh, such a bad idea, she tried telling herself. Ma mannaggia, he looks so...

"Where is it?"

He was also apparently stupid.

"Huh?"

"Don't play stupid. Where is the Orb?"

"The what?"

"The relic. Where is it?" He asked.

"I have no clue what you are talking about. Now let us go!" She was getting angrier with every question, his spell completely broken.

"I'll ask you again, where is it?"

"Porca miseria, sei un idiota. Deveo ripetermi? Non so di cosa stai parlando!"

He moved closer, his face a hairsbreadth from hers. His voice was almost a growl as he spoke. "I don't like repeating myself. This is your last chance. Where is the orb?"

Marissa's anger boiled over.

"Look, I don't care how pretty you look, you're still an absolute idiot. We have no clue what you're talking about and asking us over and over again isn't going to make the answer magically appear out of thin air. Now, let. Us. Go!" She struggled to move forward and lash out, but the ropes held her securely against the wall, the pain lighting up across her body had her fighting to stay conscious and taking the fight out of her for the moment.
