Ella's pov~

With my luggage in one hand and my phone in the other, I followed the maps directions to the hotel I was staying at once. I walked down about two blocks taking a left around the corner of a 7-11 store before the map on my phone told me I was at my destination. Putting my phone into my pocket, I stared at the hotel building I would be living in for the next two weeks. The building's design had an elegant look to it with gold accents throughout its structure.

As I got closer to the entrance I noticed the crowd of people standing outside of the hotel building. I assumed there must have been an event was being held or that some celebrity was staying at the because this place was pretty popular and quite costly. Thankfully I had managed to save up enough money to stay here.

Anyway, pushing my way through the crowd I somehow managed to make it to the front doors and went inside. Making sure my luggage was still in my hand I made my way to the front desk.

"Welcome to The Plaza. The finest hotel Chicago has to offer."

I jumped a bit startled by the sound of another person talking to me. Smiling timidly to the hostess who had greeted me, I continued walking over to the front desk to check in. There were 3 people behind the desk 2 of them being on the phone. I stood in front of the man who didn't look busy.

"Good morning ma'am how can I help you?"

"Morning, I'm here to check in." I said.

"Can I get your name please." He said.

"Ella Robertson." I replied.

The guy, whose name tag read Chris, nodded and started typing away. After about 10 minutes Chris handed me my room key and I handed him the cash to cover the expenses. Walking away from the counter, Chris stopped me to explain that there were some special guest who were staying on the same floor as I was.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, but do please make sure not to disturb them."

I nodded, then walked over to the elevator. Once the elevator doors opened, I walked in placing my bag on the floor and hit the floor number I had been given. The ride to my floor took a bit longer since it stopped at 3 other floors to drop people off before finally getting to mine. Pulling my luggage along as the elevator door's finally opened to floor 7 I exited and went down the hallway looking for my room number.

Stopping in front of my room door I pressed the room key against the sensor of the door knob and it flashed green unlocking my door. I had never seen hotel room doors have sensors like this, since they normally would give you a physical key. But I was good to see that some hotels were updating with the times we lived in.

Entering my room I dropped my duffle bag and purse onto the floor and flopped onto the bed. I didn't realize how tired I was until I hit the bed but before I knew it my eyes were closed.

2 hours later

Stepping out of the bathroom, I shivered as the cold air hit my skin. I turned up the heat a little bit before putting on my pajamas. Plopping onto the bed I turned on the tv scrolling through the channels provided while also looking at food options before I called for room service. Once I chose what I wanted to eat, I grabbed the room phone and called the front desk.

"Hi, this is Ella. I was wanting to put in an order to a slice of Tiramisu with a side of ice cream." I said through the phone.

"Very well. It shall be brought to your room in about 15 minutes."

I thanked the women before hanging up the phone. I continued scrolling through the tv channels until I stumbled upon some type of murder mystery movie. Since I love crime and mystery shows I chose the channel to see what it was about.

After 15 minutes had passed, a knock at my door took my attention from the movie what had completely sucked me in. Getting up from the bed I went over to the door, looked through the peep hole before, opened it.

There was a gentleman holding a tray with my food on it. I smiled thanking the guy and taking the tray. I told him to hold on before I retreated into my room. I put the food onto the table before digging around in my purse to grab out $10. I rushed back to the door and opened it.

I thanked the gentleman again for bringing the desert I ordered and handed him the  $10. The guy smiled thanking me for the generosity. I nodded, and the guy left from my room. I watched him leave until he was out of sight. However, as I went to close my door I ended up making eye contact with a guy with beautiful dark green eyes.

I smiled and nodded while he smiled back at me giving a small wave. Then he went back to entering his room as I retreated into my own as well.

The rest of the evening went by peacefully eating my tiramisu and ice cream while watching the murder mystery movie until I passed out.
