The summer sun gently rose early in the morning, waking the horses gently from the stables. The horses started waking and sticking their heads out of the tops of the doors, whinnying and neighing. People started to gently pouring into the stables, hay was dished out and water and horse feed was dished out. Dogs were woken and feed. Tack was gotten out, boots were brought out and horses were groomed. Horses were let out into fields and tacked up. Some horses were taken out of hacks, so practiced show jumping and some were lunged and trained.
At around 10 in the morning, a girl came running out of the office and ran to a tall woman wearing a baseball cap, a blue polo shirt and a pair of purple jodhpurs. Her hair was tied up into a ponytail with a purple and blue striped scrunchie. The young girl, around 12 years old, was wearing a pink and purple polo shirt, jodhpurs that matched and her hair tied up with pink and purple hair ties. She had a startled expression all over her face as she gently tapped the woman on the arm.
"Rosie," the young 12 year old said, her voice slightly wobbly. The tall woman dressed in blue and purple turned and nodded.
"What's wrong Molly?" Rosie asked, questioningly and concerned.
Molly shifted from foot to foot. "Robertson Stable was just burnt down. The horses, dogs and people are safe. All got out just fine and are alive," she said at first. She looked down for a few seconds before looking back up at Rosie. Rosie nodded and looked around a little before looking back at Molly.
"Thats horrible," she said sympathetically. "Why do you look so worried about it though?" she asked, tilting her head to the side and raising an eyebrow.
"There's a pair of twins who use to go there that are coming here from Robertson Stable. But that's not the problem. The problem is the fact there are kids who bully them and make their life difficult. I'm worried and concerned about the twins because of the bullies," Molly said softly. Rosie nodded.
"Do these bullies come past here?" she asked, just to make sure they'd need to make sure that the twins were kept out of sight and kept safe from these brats. Molly nodded sadly.
"Unfortunately they do," she said dismayed. Her face was filled with sadness and concern. "Rosie, I don't want these brats to be causing any trouble for these twins. I've also heard that they hate animals and tend to give animals a hard time," she said, her voice breaking slightly before she regained herself. She nodded slightly. "Just figured you should know," she added, weakly smiling. Rosie nodded.
"Thank you Molly," she said thoughtfully. She stroked her chin slightly, deep in thought. "Right, are they bringing their horses?" she asked, looking up, the tension in her face easing slightly. Molly nodded.
"Yes. They are. The names of their horses are," she looked down at a small piece of paper in her hand, checking the names before looking back up, "Scott and Ben," she said, her smile becoming stronger. "Lovely names, I think," she said quietly. Rosie nodded.
"Truly wonderful names," Rosie agreed, nodding thoughtfully. "And the girls' names?" she inquired gently.
"Emily and Lark." Molly replied after consulting the piece of paper again for a few short seconds. Rosie nodded, again in deep thought. After a short moment, Rosie looked up and smiled.
"We'll set them up beside you and Patch. Is that ok? There are two free stables beside Patch right?" Rosie asked, almost certain in her decision. Molly nodded.
"I'd love to have them with Patch and I would love to have them beside us. I believe the rest of the row after Patch is free," Molly said truthfully, her smile becoming stronger, happier and brighter. Rosie smiled brightly.
"Excellent. Well, then its sorted. Scott and Ben will go beside Patch, and their tack beside Patch's. Emily and Lark's lockers are beside yours," Rosie said, her smile a sweet and bright gesture. Molly beamed gratefully.
"Thank you Rosie," Molly beamed and nodded. Rosie returned the smile, saying, "No problemo Molly," playfully tapping Molly's shoulder in a sign of friendship. Molly returned the gesture and walked back to the office to make the plaques for Scott and Ben's stalls, and making the labels for Emily and Lark's lockers.
