It was a calm and quiet evening in the sewer, Rita and Roddy were hanging out together in the jammy Dodger 2, after a long day of rough sailing.

Eventually, Rita was sitting down staring at the floor, and Roddy was lying down with his eyes half shut. Both were as quiet as a mouse.

Rita looked around the ship and her eyes landed on Roddy. She noticed he looked rather satisfied. She smiled. Then she remembered they never got the chance to really talk about previous events.

Rita sighed, Catching Roddy's attention immediately. He sat up slowly, and looked into her green eyes.

"Are you Alright?" He asked, quietly.

Rita looked at him, "Oh yeah. I'm fine- but are you?" She paused, "We never really got to talk about what happened before."

"Oh Rita... I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean what I said back there about me not needing family, or friends.."

"Roddy. It's okay." She looked at him dead in the eyes.

"I feel terrible."

"Hey seriously it's okay. I should be the one apologizing. I haven't really treated you all that well."

"Well alright. And you're forgiven too Rita. We're on good terms now anyways."

"Yeah.." she rubbed the back of her neck.

They locked eyes with each other, staring for a few seconds with no words.

"This is all so scary to be honest."

"What do you mean?" Rita tilted her head.

"I've been so lonely my entire life- Sid comes along, I get flushed away and find this entire city of rats- and suddenly I meet you- and then things happen. And eventually I'm the hero of the entire city. I still don't understand how I survived with hardly any social skills-"

"Well I mean, Maybe this was meant to happen. Everything has a purpose, Right? And hey. I think your doing great."

"Yeah I suppose your right. It's just hard to believe I'm not lonely anymore." He looked to the ground.

Rita stood up and walked over to him, she sat next to him, and placed her hand on top of his, grabbing his attention.

"Well you should believe it, You've got me."

He stared at her, and smiled, close to crying, he pulled her into a hug, which surprised her for a moment, but she hugged back.

"Thank you Rita. Thank you for everything."

"Your welcome Roddy."

They stopped hugging.

"It's funny as to how far we've come in such little time. You really changed my life Rita."

"Yeah. You have too."

They both smiled, Things were quiet for a few moments so Roddy slowly leaned in, and gave Rita a kiss on the cheek.

Rita looked at him, she smiled and kissed him back, but on the lips, Roddy kissed her back, as seconds passed they slowly let go, staring once more.

"I love you Rita."

"I love you too Roddy."
