Liane set her brand-new pencil on top of her journal, stopping the bending of the cover for the most part.

"Pre-girls' night!" Sarah yelled, not at-the-top-of-her-lungs-loud, just enough to burst their eardrums. Her phone connected to their new red bluetooth speaker, the ecstatic female pressed the green 'shuffle' button on Spotify, because she did not want to pay for premium, Lie To Me by 5 Seconds Of Summer immediately playing.

"Aw, come on. Why's it still called 'Girls' Night?'" Sawyer pointed to himself, "I'm here, from beginning to end." He frowned, and they laughed at him.

"No, you were not. You missed the first. When we made them girls' nights. Sucker," Analese snickered. He sputtered out an array of excuses, before sighing when they simply kept singing, Analese sticking her tongue out. Had they not been singing, she and Sarah would've been fawning over Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin, shirtless when they could. Michael Clifford was already taken.

As they sang along with their off-tune voices, Alia's eyes locked with Sawyer for a near ten whole seconds. Her voice quieted, and Liane noticed her change in demeanor, her spirit dimming slightly, too. Alia still mouthed the words, at least, and so did Sawyer, their faces morphing quickly back into a grin she knew was fraud because of the quick change in their mood.

I know that you don't, but if I ask you if you love me, I hope you lie to me...

How had she not noticed the hostile tension between them before?

As the song continued, they avoided looking in each others' direction overall, Liane's suspicion only rising. She continued to sing with a large grin plastered over her face, watching them more carefully this time.

Now I wish we never met, 'cause you're too hard to forget. While I'm cleaning up your mess, I know he's taking off your dress...

Based off the content in this song, Liane pondered the potential reasons for their unusual actions. When the song concluded, Alia took a deep breath, excusing herself, trying to maintain an ordinary footsteps to attempt to avoid raising wonders. Not that it diminished Liane's. Liane was their modern-day Sherlock Holmes, and they knew how far her curiosity went, and feared what her prying would make her discover.

Alia had returned for them to leave to the mall. The pre-girls' night continued in the car, as they sang along horribly to more songs, Sawyer trying to seem fine, Alia just mouthing the words again. With their windows rolled down, complaints from some people were shot at them, only for Analese and Sarah to yell back.

"Oh, won't you just shut up, granny?" Analese stuck her head out and looked at the driver of a grey Sedan. Their used and old Range Rover towered over the other driver's, and Analese muttered 'party pooper' under her breath, her eyebrows scrunched together, before returning to her loud singing that others may not even consider that anymore. They laughed at her and Sarah, Alia included.

She and Sawyer ensured an excessive amount of space between each other, deliberately walking on the outsides of the horizontal line they were walking in, which was probably taking up plenty of space.

Store after store, Liane and Sawyer complained enough for the rest of them to also agree to go, four hours after they'd started. Once they'd eaten at Chipotle, and Krispy Kreme, they snuck Sarah's backpack full of chips, and other miscellaneous snacks from the nearby Chevron, into the movie theater. Liane intentionally pulled Sarah on her left and Analese on her right to a crowded area of the viewing room, the last three seats in that row being taken by them, leaving the only seats near them the two empty ones in the row in front of them. She internally congratulated herself at her plan. She wasn't exactly sure what followed, but she decided she'd just observe them close to each other.
