Today I am finally going to tell Danny that I'm pregnant. He has been rehearsing all day with his band, and I've been home alone. I decided to go out shopping and buy a pair of red baby converse to surprise him with.
When I got home I placed them in Danny's pile of clothes and shoes he has worn that week, and covered them up. The rest of the day I waited anxiously for Danny's car to pull in the driveway.
I sat on the chair in our room, wrapped up in a blanket, and continued reading a book. A few minutes past six o'clock I heard Danny get home. He walked upstairs and into our bedroom.
"Hey Danny." I said and smiled.
"Hi, (Y/N)." Said Danny. He walked over to where I sat and quickly kissed me.
"How was your day?" I ask.
"Good, I'm pretty tired though." answered Danny. He walked to the closet and changed his clothes, then threw them in the pile of dirty clothes.
He sighed and said, "I should probably do this now."
He grabbed a basket and started putting the clothes in. Once he found two pairs of shoes, he got up and put those away. When he sat back down he continued putting clothes in the basket, then quickly stopped.
Danny slowly grabbed the small pair of converse. "(Y/N)...what are these?"
"You never know...we might need them someday." I said with a small grin, then stood up.
He looked at the shoes for a moment, then back at me. I raised my hands to my stomach and smiled.
"Are you serious?" asked Danny, looking happy and nervous at the same time.
I nodded and laughed. He ran over to me and hugged me, a lot more carefully than he normally does. When he pulled away, he cupped my face in his hands and said, "We're gonna be parents?"
"Yes, Danny." I said with tears forming in my eyes, "You will be a wonderful dad."
His smile was the widest I've ever seen it. "This is actually happening..the start of our own family, (Y/N). I can't believe it."
I began to cry tears of joy. He kissed me passionately and said, "I love you so much."
