Sydney's POV

I walked through the front door after coming back from Jacobs house. Of course my angry father was standing in front of me like he was waiting for some kind of explantation.

"So where were you last night? And what is that?" He said gesturing to the kitten and flowers

"Jacobs. And just something he got me. Where's mom?"

"Just something he got you?"

"Where's mom?" He sighed shaking his head.

"Just at the store." I assumed she wasn't here. He probably pissed her off. I rolled my eyes and went to my room. What's the big deal about me being with Jacob? I like him... And he likes me. I think. I'm almost seventeen years old. In about a year, I could move right out of the house and live on my own. I can do what I want! I wonder so much about why this is a big deal to him. I simply put in my headphones, turn on the music, and close my eyes until everything is out of my head.

---

Monday. 6:00 A.M. I'm struggling to get my eyes to open. I am practically still asleep. 6:30 A.M.

J: Hey I'll be at your house in about ten minutes :)

Finally I open my eyes and Jacob is staring back at me.

"It's a good thing I came a bit early. Are you alright? Did you get enough sleep last night?" He asked and sat at the edge of my bed.

"Oh I can never get enough sleep." I rubbed my eyes and sat up. Cold air hit my body and the sun coming through the window struck my eyes, immediately giving me a headache.

"I'm gonna let you get ready. I'll wait for you downstairs." He smiled.

Jacobs POV

I walked down the stairs and her father turned the corner so we almost crashed. I sighed then smiled at him. "Good morning sir." I said politely. He looked up the stairs then back down to me.

"I don't know what you're doing with my daughter but you better stop it. Now why the hell did you just come down from her room at seven in the morning?" His voice my angry, but quiet. He must have gotten the wrong idea...

"No that's not what happened I just came to-"

"What are you saying to this poor boy he didn't do anything wrong?" Sydney's mother came from the same hallway he had a minute ago.

"He just came down from Sydney's room! Can you explain that?"

"I just came to pick her up for school." I stated. Quite confused as to why he would jump to conclusions.

"I'm ready!" Sydney chirped and jumped to the bottom of the steps. "Bye mom bye dad." We both made our way to the street to start our walk to school.

"So what were you talking about with my parents?" She asked.

"Nothing... I think your dad thought that I had spent the night because he didn't see me come in earlier. It's fine though." I said and she smiled.

"I'm sorry. My dad is all over the place. I don't understand why since we're old enough." She sighed.

"It will be okay I think he will just need to get used to it. Are you excited for Saturday?" I asked. She looked down and smiled.

"Yes. I hope it's perfect." I saw her cheeks gain a light shade of red. By then, we were at school. We walked passed many signs and decorations for prom already. I wasn't surprised. Each day at school went as slow as it possibly could. Every night I spent staring at the ceiling thinking of how I could possibly make prom perfect for Sydney. I couldn't think of anything out of the ordinary. I will make it a special night for her no doubt. I just couldn't mess up.

Sydney's POV

I was nervous, I was nervous as hell. I could puke my guys out and still not be able to get rid out the butterflies in my stomach. "Why are you freaking out so much? It's prom Sydney. There's no need to worry about anything. Okay?" Emma said from next to me. Ashley agreed. I sighed. We were at the salon, getting our hair and nails done. I was nervous, I didn't want to mess anything up, or ruin my night with Jacob. I could tell he was nervous too. All day yesterday he was fiddling with his hands and looking at the clock.

"Sydney!" I jumped and turned my head. "Come on or we're leaving without you!" Ashley said. Wow, the things Jacob does to me...

May I say, I've never been so nervous until now, as Jacob walked up to my house from his car. No wait, Limo!

"Hey princess." He grabbed my hand and put a corsage on my wrist. I caught my mom tearing up and taking pictures next to us. "Mooommmmm why are you crying?" I laughed and so did Jacob.

"My baby is just growing up so fast!" She came over and hugged me, then Jacob.

"Here let me take a picture of you two!" Jacob took her phone and took the picture.

"Thank you sweetheart. Now it's my turn to take a million pictures of you both." My mom said. She had to have taking a million, because my cheeks hurt and my smile wouldn't come undone. "Alright bye sweetie have fun! Don't stay out too late!" She hugged me once again and I got into the limo with Jacob. I had to time to prepare, since it was the shortest ride of my life. We walked up to the school hand in hand, looking forward to a fun night.
