In my opinion, White is by far the best cartoon villain of this era. Go ahead, name a more compelling, terrifying villain. I'm waiting.
I think that one of the things that makes her so interesting is her almost- humanness. She's a perfectionist, she has insecurities. She's a villain, so we hate her, but she's kind of relatable. Which is weird.
Another thing that makes White so interesting is how blatantly powerful she is. It's common in media for female villains to be portrayed as the 'seduce their victims then kill them' type (think Asajj Ventress from Star Wars or Harumi from Ninjago) These characters tend to server a higher (male) power. In Steven Universe, the female-presenting villains are the higher power. Also none of them are the seductress archetype, which is good.
Another thing I like about White is that she was redeemed (sort of) instead of shattered. A, we get more of her character, and B, there's potential for a redemption arc, which is always fun.
