Note- it's been an eternity since I've seen Star Wars Rebels, so this'll probably be brief

At first glance, I'd say Ezra is a pretty basic protagonist. He's got his magic (force) Powers, his team of supporting cast, his tragic backstory, and the mentor-type teacher figure.

The thing that sets Ezra apart the most is a combination of two factors- his situation, and the fact that he's not overtly op.

Focusing on the latter first, Ezra is pretty average by Jedi standards. Sure he has a few specialized skills and proficiencies, but he's no chosen one. Another part of his uniqueness is his situation- he's being trained in a way unlike any other Jedi before him.

All in all, Ezra's a pretty cool protagonist and I wish I could say more about him
