Chapter 1: New neighbor

You placed the last box in your room before flopping on your mattress that laid on the floor. You sighed and scratched at the bandages wrapped on your arms. You pet bird, Azul landed on our hand, pecking at your fingers as if telling you to stop. You smiled and rubbed your finger along his back making him chirp happily.

A knock broke you out of your thoughts as you step sister, Rachel, peeked her head in. "hey, I made a pizza if your hungry" she said and nudged her head towards the kitchen. "I'll be there in a sec" You said "I'm gonna change first". She nodded her head and left the room. 

You sighed and laid on your bed, Azul bouncing about as he sang a tune. You placed your hand down for him to climb on and placed him back in his cage and put food inside. You walked over to your dressed her and grabbed new clothes. You placed and over sized sweater on and black leggings wear tan boots with them. You walked out of your room and into the living room. You sat on the couch as Rachel placed a plate of pizza on the table and a drink.

"Thank you" You said and began eating. "after your done i think you should explore the apartment, know your way around and meet the neighbors" She said, taking a bite of her own pizza. You thought for a second and nodded "alright, I will" 

~Time skip~

After you ate your food you grabbed your satchel off the rack and waved bye to Rachel as you made your way down the hall to the elevator. You were on the 2nd floor so you decided to go to the first floor. You pressed the button and waited a you felt yourself descend. As the doors opened you walked out and noticed a women cleaning. 

She looked up at smiled. "Oh my! You must be the new tenants" She said smiling. You nodded and smiled. "Yes, its me and my step-sister" You said. "My name is Lisa, I'm the maintenance worker here. If you got a problem then you come to me and I'll help you out" She said smiling. "I'm (Y/n)" You said "and I'll remember that if i ever have a problem" You said. "Oh! one more thing" She said and pulled a key card out and handed it to you. "Its for the B floor. I doubt you have one yet so here is one. I have plenty" She said smiling. "Thank you so much Lisa" You said and walked down the hall. You stopped at a door that read 'Addison'. You knocked only for the mail slot to open. 

"Oh! how do you do child? New tenants of 203" (the people moved out after Charley's arrest so that why you guys live there now) He said. "How did you know that?" You asked. "I know lots of things that go on in this building. You pay good mind to that too you hear?" He said. You nodded "yes sir" "Good, have a nice day" He shut the slot. 'weird' was all you thought as you made your way to the elevator. You went back to your floor and walked to your apartment door. You went to open the door when you heard Rachel on the phone inside 

" Listen, I don't want you to have any contact with her! I don't care who you think you are. I won't let you ever be apart of her life again!!" She yelled. You heard the phone click you waited a few seconds and opened the door, acting like nothing happened. Rachel head shot to you. "Oh hey, how was the exploring going?" she asked. You smiled "It went ok, i met the maintenance worker named Lisa and she gave me a key card" You said. Rachel smiled and nodded. 

"Its getting late, you should get ready for bed and then we can fix your room up tomorrow ok?" She asked. You nodded your head and walked to the bathroom. You turned on the shower and adjusted it before undressing and carefully pulling off the bandages off. You refused to look at your arms as you steps in the shower, your eyes turned to the ceiling. Images flashed through your mind as you felt the tears in your eyes weld. You let them fall with the shower water

after about 10 minuets in the shower you got out and wrapped a towel around yourself. You walked to your room and opened Azul's cage to let him hop about as you got dressed. You grabbed undergarments and short then a tank top. After getting dressed you laid on your mattress as Azul hopped on the bed and waddled his way next to you.

"peek -a-boo" he said, as he popped from behind your hair making you laugh. "good birdy" you said and stroked his feathers. You continued to play with Azul until Rachel peeked into your room, telling you it was time to go to bed. You placed your bird back into his cage and placed a small sheet over his cage so he would sleep.

You laid in your bed after taking one of your pills and closing your eyes, hoping your dreams would not be plagued with nightmare but you knew they would.
