Adopted by Lightning McQueen (slow uPdates...reaaallly slow)

Goofy grin.

Knocking came from Daniel's window making him look up and see who it was. Mater waved rapidly to him, a large grin on his face. Daniel blinked.
"Hey there!" Mater called from the other side of the glass. Daniel slowly began to smile and crawled over to open the window.
"My name's Mater, what's yours McQueen new son?" Daniel let Mater climb through the window and face planted on his bed. Daniel chuckled.
"I'm Daniel. Nice to meet you Mater." Mater showed a toothy grin and ruffled his matted brown hair.
"Nice room. Looks like McQueen went all out for ya." Daniel nodded. He took another look at his room and felt his heart race. No ones been this nice to him before.

   Mater had his arm draped over Daniel's shoulder as he spoke to Flo. She leant on the counter of the cafe and beamed down at Daniel. Her dark skin glowing in the sun making her eyes seem more friendly than ever. Daniel went red with embarrassment of the attention.
"Well I'm glad to see you're settling in quickly Daniel." Flo said and handed Mater a glass of water which he gulped down. The Sheriff slowly stepped over to them, rubbing a bit of sand out of his eye and sitting on a chair. He looked exhausted.
"Hey there Sheriff!" Mater happily said.
"Good afternoon Mater. Who's this?" He gestured towards Daniel who shuffled his feet slightly.
"Why this here's Daniel! Daniel this is the Sheriff of the town!" Mater pointed to the Sheriff who nodded his head kindly. Daniel waved a small 'hello' before looking back up at Mater's goody grin.
