I checked my phone for notifications from my caregivers. Usually the Avengers take about an average of two days, the guardians tend to take a week or so, minimum. Maybe Mr. Silver is worried. The twins have my number. Quinn has my number.

Pearl grabbed my hand and smiled. "Its only 9. We are fine."

My heart raced as I looked at the sky. Shadows began to form, from the moon. My eyes darted around as I took a precaution with every step I took.

"Well well well Morgan B. Marshal! Are you actually scared of the dark?!" Valarie laughed.

I looked at her frazzled. "I- I am not."

"You truly are a child." She cackled. I huffed and followed them some more.

"Where are we going?" I mumbled

"Lets go watch the boys basketball game at school." Jasper broke the tension. We followed behind her into our school. I paid for the snacks and went to sit next to Pearl.

I checked my phone for a second time to see Russell texting me asking for my location. I sent it to him to let him know I'm at the school.

I calmed down and sat back to eat.

The game finally ended leaving our school at a loss of 15 points. As soon we left the school building Valarie took lead once more and began leading us aimlessly. I could tell the other two were tired of the trip that was taking us no where.

"Where are we going?" I folded my arms

"Does everything need to have a destination" Val snapped glancing towards me. My eyes lowered before a soft groan slipped from my lips.

"Lets go to one of my favorite stores."

"Wouldn't it be closed?" Jasper cocked her head questioning.

"No I doubt it. It should be open until like 2 am."

2 am???

"Guys I really gotta go. Its getting dark." I said checking the time. "Our parents are going-"

"Jesus Morgan, go home then! You are the only one who wants to leave. Its perfectly fine. We are fine." She shouted. The lingering pedestrians glanced over towards us awkwardly before hastening their pace

We were all quiet and I was particularly upset that she decided yelling would be the best idea. My hand quickly clung to my chest in my defense.. "I'm trying to keep my friends out of trouble. You are leading them into it."

"I'm letting them have fun, they are willingly following me. And so. Are. You."

"Morgan... Its fine.... Really." Pearl smiled

"Your mom is going to have an a cow when she figures out we are out this late. Where is your phone?" I snapped.

"Home..." She said shyly.

I slowly blinked as my neck pushed out. I slapped my head. "Pearl...." I groaned

"Trust me, she will be fine with it." Pearl smiled nervously.

"See Morgan?! You are the only party pooper here."

"Oh shut up Valarie!" I hissed loudly

"Who the hell do you think-"

"Im going home. If you want me to walk you home I will." I glanced towards the street aigh not recognizing my surroundings at all. The dark really makes the world different. I glanced at Jasper and Pearl hoping at least one would come to their senses. They looked away and shifted their bodies toward Valarie.
