[Third person POV]
"Ladieth and Gentleman, we've got em...all the gameth we could ever need!" Sollux proclaimed as he returned with arms full of video and board games galore. He hadn't been up to much lately, just playing his games in his room, sort of cooped up. One could imagine how excited he was to be playing with his friends.

As Sollux set up some board games and hooked others up to the TV in John's living room, Jane returned with the much-needed cold medicine for John. The poor boy has sneezing, sniffling, and coughing, and just looked really miserable. 'At least when we get this medicine in him he can try and relax and enjoy some games with us.' Jane thought. John was like a younger brother to her, and she always felt protective of him, even if it was a common cold attacking him. She nudged him awake slowly, as not to startle him, to give him the medicine. As John reluctantly took the foul-tasting concoctions and pills, Jane couldn't help but notice his focus was elsewhere.

Jane followed his gaze to the other couch, where Karkat was set on poking (y/n) until they were awake. So far it wasn't working very much, so as one does, Karkat just kept poking. It was when he started poking (y/n)'s nose that she started to wake up, and unfortunately for Karkat, she tried swatting whatever was on her face and ended up slapping him unintentionally. She woke up more and hadn't realized what she had done, until she noticed Karkat's red cheek and John's hoarse-laughter. She gave him an apologetic look and shrugged. "Hey you aren't sick, you don't have an excuse to do stupid things" Karkat whined.
"Look who's talking Mr. 'I'll poke (y/n) until she wakes up'!" At that, Sydney and Jane chuckled.

"Look guyth can we focus on what really matterth?" Sollux was becoming impatient with the lack of games being played on game day. He and Dave were seated in front of the TV, awaiting the others.

Dave had just been looking around John's house, (as creepy as it sounds, he had been there plenty of times) and was quiet enough that he had just been sitting, waiting for games for several minutes now.

(Y/n), Karkat, Jane, and John were making there way onto the pillow cushion seats on the ground, and the couch Sollux and Dave had moved to be in front of the TV. John plopped onto this couch, and as (y/n) was about to sit down but Dave and Karkat on the ground, he. mustered the strength he had and pulled her onto the couch to sit with him. Jane sat on the pillow (y/n) was planning on sitting on.

Everyone was situated, and the gaming ensued.

There were only a few controllers in the house, seeing as Sollux had forgotten his [he already apologized], so there were only two people playing at a time. Jane and Dave were fine with waiting, while Sollux and Karkat were a little more impatient, whining when they weren't gaming. John wasn't really focused on the games [ironic, since this game day was his idea], but more on thinking back on memories of (y/n). (y/n) was simply observing, watching her friends laugh and argue, race and battle, it was a good day.

(y/n) heard John mumble something beside her. She looked at him with a tilted head, almost like a curious puppy, and asked if he had said something.
"Remember the swings?" John had spoken up to remind (y/n) of their first time meeting, and honestly a pleasant memory in (y/n)'s opinion.
(y/n) laughed a little, recalling it, and nodded with a smile.
"Thanks for that, by the way." John didn't need them to clarify what they had said. He usually knew what she was thinking before she thought it- he understood where she was coming from in her head. He nodded at (y/n) and leaned into her shoulder in endearment. He knew that if she hadn't met him by the swings all those years ago, she wouldn't be the chatty, friendly person she is now. They turned their attention back to the TV where Karkat and Jane were battling it out for the #1 place in the race.

John thought game day was a good day too.
