Alternian Motives [Homestuck Reader Insert Fanfiction]

Game Day

[John's POV]
It had seemed that immediately after I had sent out a mass message inviting my friends to come over and waste the day away with video games- I had fallen asleep. Which was fine, obviously. Rest is important when you are sick and healing right? Well what wasn't fine was the fact that you had been awoken by the sounds of bickering and some moron smashing your doorbell.

I looked over at (y/n) to find that she was still asleep (you forgot that she could sleep through the literal apocalypse). It was at this moment that you began your trek to the front door to see who these crazy intruders were.

[Third person POV]
It was a rather strange and unexpected sight for Dave, Sollux, Karkat, and Jane when they saw the front door to their friend's house slowly opening, only for them to be met with a winded and sweating John. The cool kid Strider stepped forward.
"John."
"Yes?"
"What are you doing on the floor."
"Ah! Yes well you see, I was tired. And I decided not to use my legs today."

With that, Dave and Sollux let out a dejected sigh and each grabbed an arm of Egbert's, carefully helping him to the couch.

Karkat and Jane followed, and the red-blooded fury-incarnate slammed the door shut behind them. There was a loud thud heard, followed by quiet groaning. Karkat peeked over the couch to find the source of the sound, which he discovered to be his newly-awoken friend (y/n).

While Karkat was messing with (y/n) trying to wake her up more, Jane saw the state of John and decided to go find some medicine to help him beat this cold.

"Ith the offer for a day'th worth of gameth thtill open?" Sollux, as always, got right to the point with John. He had come for video games, so video games he shall have.

"Huh? Oh yeah yeah, would you mind going up to my room and getting the stuff we need?"
With that seemingly monumental request, Sollux slowly lost interest, seeing as he wasn't here to shuttle stuff around for Egbert.

"You can pick what we play if you get the stuff."
And with that Sollux was up the stairs with a roadrunner-esque trail of smoke behind him.
