You sighed happily as your feet reach the ground. Your wings folding behind you as you walk. You smiled at the humans. Your name was (y/n) and you had been an angel for a very long time. God didn't mind you going to earth though, he understood you love to get away from heaven. You stopped at the cross walk. Sure, you could have gone, no one can see or feel you, but you still waited. You have saved a few humans from getting hit by stopping them from walking. Death wasn't too happy with you for doing that, but he can't stop an angel from saving people.

Once the signal turned green and you began to walk, you saw your destination. It was a hospital. You smiled and flew up, going though the walls and entering the nursery. You loved to see the newborns because they can see you, in fact many remember you. You see, until a baby is five years old, they remember heaven but only newborns to a year old can they see angels. You smiled at one and tickled it. It started to laugh, and reached for you but you couldn't pick it up. You then left after a while and went to the other parts of the hospital. It was busier then normal, but you didn't mind.

You then heard a coding and walked into the room. It was a young male, his heart had stopped. They were doing everything right, but you then saw death in the corner. You walked up to him.

"Death." You said. He looked at you.

"(y/n)." He said, turning back to the ma. You watched at the man's heart was slowing beeping before flat lining. The nurses stopped, and death swooped in, taking his soul.

"Was he a good man?" You asked death. He nodded before flying up to heaven with the man. You sighed and ran your hand though your (h/l), (h/c) hair. You hated to see them die but it was life. You had died hundreds of years go. You had gotten sick. That's all you remembered. You flew back to the nursery but saw death again. You walked up, and you saw him staring at a premature born baby. His chart said he was born at 32 weeks. You looked sad as the baby's breathing was very weak, even with the endotracheal tube in it.

"Does this one have to die?" You asked death. He nodded. You let a tear drop. He sighed.

"I let you save the last three. I'm sorry (y/n), but you knew my rules. You're lucky I let you save them at all." He said. You nodded. You and death always fought over baby's lives. He would let you save some, but not all. He reached down and took the small baby's hand in his gently. The baby's crying stopped, like he was going to sleep, and you saw him take the soul, holding it gently. He was always kind to baby's, almost like he was a father to them. He looked at you.

"There is another that must go, but I will allow her to live." He said. You looked at death.

"Why?" You asked. Death never let a soul go unless you asked, or he had a good reason. He smiled sadly.

"Her mother will be raising her alone. The father was a cheater and she had just found out." He said before leaving. You saw the nurses running in, just now seeing that the baby's heart has stopped. You rubbed its hand before going over to the other baby. Her birth was successful, but her heart wasn't that strong. The nurses haven't figured it out yet. You knew the baby wouldn't survive if they didn't catch it now. You took a hold of the baby's hand and felt that her heart was started to fade. You squeezed her hand hard and the baby started to cry, but it was weak. A new nurse ran over, seeing the baby didn't look right. She called in a doctor and the baby was rushed out. You smiled.

"She will live a good life." You heard and turned, seeing death.

"Thank you for letting me save her." You said. You might not have the best relationship with him, but you both respected each other. He nodded. You smiled and flew up, back to heaven. You smiled as you saw the two new angels flying around.
