CHAPTER 4

I was escorted back to my so called room by the same buff man that took me out of that place just half an hour ago. I thought about asking him some questions that have been on my mind but hey, I for one didn’t want to get my face pounded to a pulp.

As we approached my room, the old homeless man came around the corner and stopped us. “I’ll take it from here, Eugene. You may go.” He said and took over control of me. We walked in silence for another few minutes until he finally broke the ice. “I know this must be extremely confusing for you but I promised clarity and you have the right to get some.” He said as he gazed at me with piercing brown eyes.

“Alright then. Go ahead. Dazzle me with your amazing wisdom.” I said, unable to bottle up my emotions any longer. The old man looked at me with sympathy and sighed. “The world you know, where everything was peaceful, no longer exists. When the Americans found a huge pocket of Adamantium, they dug it up like it was nobody’s business. The third industrial revolution has begun. Buildings were built not for the purpose of making the citizens happier, but to make the president richer. We now practically live under a monarchy that still holds the title of being a republic.” He said, casually.

“Then explain this war. Why did I get dragged into this? Why did you force me against my will to fight a war that’s not even mine to begin with!” I snapped.

“All will be revealed in good time, boy. For now, go back to your cell and get some rest.” Said the old man as he walked off to another section of the compound, leaving me to my thoughts. I decided to go back to my cell and closed the door. It closed with a loud bang and I could hear the locks closing automatically.
