CHAPTER 6
I woke up with a start the next day. The ground was shaking violently and the ceiling was falling apart. Eugene was standing at the doorway, staring at me intently. "About time you got up. Hurry up. We're under siege and we need to evacuate." He said. My drowsiness quickly dissipated when the words under siege were uttered. I ran out and made my way to the conference room, without even waiting for Eugene.
The conference room was in turmoil. People were rushing around grabbing whatever documents they could from the cabinets and burning them in the fireplace. The fourteen was there, fully armoured, holding a variety of weapons from small futuristic pistols to very long rifles with scopes. The belt that they wore held what seemed like grenades and extra clips for the guns. Suddenly, someone placed an arm on my shoulder. I turned around and found Eugene, standing there, holding a set of armour and weapons. "These are for you. Try not to get yourself killed"
I donned the armour and followed closely behind the fourteen. We went through hundreds of corridors before stopping at a large metal door. The door had the symbol of the falcon the outline of its wings had little keyholes. Fourteen to be exact. Slowly, each of the fourteen approached the door and place their respective keys in the keyhole before turning it. Each key had a different material embedded on the back of it. Ranging from precious gems to metals that I've never seen before. I looked behind me and the old man was standing there, in his usual clothing, not looking like he was about to go out and fight. "Be careful, Timothy. This is not an illusion. This war is real and death is most certainly permanent" said the old man. I looked at him, and said "I never did find out how you knew my name considering I've never told it to anyone"
He chuckled and said "Assuming that you get through this alive, I promise I will tell you"
"I'll hold you to that"
With that said, the locks on the door all simultaneously opened and we all charged out to either win, or die trying
