ORORO MUNROE(storm)

CHAPTER 21

           There was chaos everywhere, tall vines overgrew the terrain, people lying on the ground, some were dead, while some were badly injured, everywhere was full of sadness, grief, cries, lamentation, anguish, anger. Mr adam himself was in critical condition, they desperately needed help. With ororo gone with the enemies, they didn't know where to start from, there were so many casualties everywhere. Suddenly an engine sound was heard above as the x-men jet landed and they rushed out immediately to offer their assistance.
       Mr Adam who was in pain and shock at the same time did not know how the government managed to find them, that’s the reason why they were constantly on the move, they never stayed in one place twice. Now everywhere was wrecked, dead mutants everywhere and the most painful part was that Ororo was gone, they now had one of the most strongest mutants in their possession, one who could control elements of the weather and nature, if they were to launch  a full out attack on them again, everything would be lost. Mr Adam was still lost deep in his thoughts that he didn’t even realised he had passed out.
       The triplets were also receiving intensive care, the X-men were working as hard as they could to make sure that the remaining ones were alive, but most of the mutants were difficult to work with, they were proving stubborn, one of them almost picked a fight with ice man. Charles Xavier, the leader of the x-men went to where Adam was being treated, he used his telepathic abilities to tap into his mind where he found Adam sitting on a couch and sipping tea. “what brings you here Charles, if you are trying to convince me to give up my ideologies and plans, them forget it, I’m not interested in what you have to say”. Charles was almost losing it as he barked out “look at what happened here today, so many lives have been lost because of your stubbornness and foolishness and you are telling me that you won’t give up?”.  Adam lashed back “at least they died for their belief and protecting what they cared about, what about you? And your precious x-men, what do you guys do? You fight alongside the same people that want to see us dead, no wonder you always had a fall out with Eric, too bad he is dead”. Charles violently stood up from his chair as things began to scatter. “ don’t mention his name, you know what? It was a big mistake coming here to talk to you, but one thing I’m not going do is allow you to  allow you waste more innocent lives”. He vanishes from Adam’s mind.
          The X-men managed to gather the remaining mutants, the ones who could still stand on their feet anyway, as Charles addressed them. “ I’m so sorry for what happened here today, I truly am, but these deaths are going to keep occurring if you guys don’t give up this path you are on right now, about half of you guys gone and one missing mutant, ask yourself if this is a life worth living. A lot of you can lead normal lives and no one will bother you, you can raises families, this is not a righteous path, opposing the government will just show them that we are the monsters they make us out to be”. One of the mutants shouted out “what guarantee do we have that we will live in peace if we decide to live normal lives? That we won’t be picked off one by one and slaughtered? Charles held up two bottles “in this bottles, contains a formula that can inhibit your powers and can also bring them back, with these, you can be whoever you want to be, no questions asked”. The mutants start looking at one another, a lady stepped forward “I will like to have them please, there is nothing here for me anyway and my powers aren’t that useful”. Before she could finish, more people joined her and Adam’s mutant team was disbanded, except for three mutants who refused to betray their master, and of course the triplets too, they needed their power if they were to go rescue Ororo.
      The X-men took the mutants who made their choice on their jets, together with Pathy, Porter and Kinesis and flew off, as soon as they dropped off the mutants, they were going to rescue storm.
       Mr Adam woke up to the news of how Charles convinced his whole team of mutants to abandon their cause, he was filled with rage and swore to get his revenge on Charles, but first of all they needed to get to storm first, because she was the only weapon powerful enough to land a devastating attack on the x-men.
