After talking for what seemed like hours, Jack remembered that the next day he was going with the boys to the beach. I should invite Briar over because that would mean I would get to hang out with her even more... "Briar, do you wanna come with me and the boys to the beach tomorrow morning." "I would love to." "We're going kayaking by the way." "Awesome text me the details, cause it's getting late and I have to go back home." "Ok sure let me walk you to the door." "What a gentleman." He held her hand as she gracefully walked down the stairs. She said bye to the boys and Jack opened the door for her, as she was about to leave the gently grabbed her hand and said: "Briar I hope you had as much fun as I did." "Yeah, I enjoyed meeting everyone and talking to you..bye Jacko see you tomorrow." "Bye Bri." She closed her car door and drove away.

bootiful:Yeah okay..love ❤️ u .i gtg

Jack tried analyzing that last text .does she means it literally, or is it like friendly or does she actually love me? I can't get this girl out of my mind and this doesn't help with it .but I don't think I'm ready to ask her about it.

Briar was packing her stuff into a large tote bag and thought do you think he loves me as I love him, does he care about me ...Myles was my everything, I cared about him so much. I gave him so much love and affection yet all he gave me was bruises and cuts. Briar looked down at her now-scarred-for-life back and cried. How could I have let someone so abusive take advantage of me?

Briar fell asleep crying .while Jack was daydreaming of what Briar was thinking about and decided to go to sleep after 20 minutes of just thinking of her.

6:00 AM :
Briar's P.O.V.

I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm and felt almost obligated to wake up because it was Jack that I was going to see. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and grabbed a granola bar and my stuff and headed out the door and into my car.

Jack's P.O.V.

I woke up a lot before my alarm went off and walked into my shared bathroom with Daniel and locked the door and did my business, took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and slipped my hair into a messy man-bun. And found that Jonah was in the kitchen making his famous eggs and rushed to the kitchen and dug into my food right away .and after I was done, I left the house earlier than the rest of the guys to make sure that I had a bit of alone time with Briar.

Back to Third Person P.O.V.
Briar and Jack meet up at the exact spot that they agreed to meet at. "Good Morning Bri." "Good Morning Jacko." "How are you?" "I'm fine, you?" Briar remembered that her eyes were extremely puffy and decided to turn away from Jack. "Is there something going on, did I do something wrong?" "No Jack this is all my fault" "Okay forget about it and let's have fun today okay?" "Yeah I'll try," she said and kissed his cheek. Jack felt like his cheeks were on fire but decided to act cool and just brush it off. The boys had just arrived, so Briar had left to greet all of them and as soon as she reached to greet Daniel she became uncomfortable, she clenched her jaw and tried to avoid him as much as possible.

They all picked up a kayak and headed to the sea, all of them were comfortable kayaking except Briar because it was her first time. All the boys were ahead of Briar and she was struggling to catch up. Then she applied pressure to one arm more than the other and completely lost her balance and flipped her kayak. Jack turned around only to see that Briar's kayak was empty and flipped. He jumped into the water to save her but his eyes stung, all he could see was a shadow of what looked like a drowning Briar. He started losing his energy and breath. He held on to her from her shirt part of her swimsuit and pulled her out of the water and into his kayak. She wasn't breathing, the boys began to panic. They all agreed that Jack should be the one to give her CPR. She slowly began breathing again and spat out the water from her mouth and thanked Jack for saving her life. "I'm here to protect you." And they hugged so tightly that they felt like nothing could come between them.

As they approached the shore, Jack carried Briar bridal style and put her down lightly. And began to pull the kayaks onto the shore. Jack drove Briar home and made sure that she was fine, and like any good friend tucked her into bed and hugged her and said goodbye.
