Behind It All

The Deal

I shivered walking down the cold London streets on this early spring morning.

I was on my way to my old friend Jack's office to find out about my new job.

I'm a 19 year old, single mother who lives in London with her one year old son in a small apartment. If it wasn't for Jack offering me this job, I'd probably have to live on the streets begging for money. I was sacked from my last job and it's been impossible to find another one. Until I bumped into Jack on the bus the other day.

Jack and I used to go to college together last year. He told me he had a job available for me and that I would be the perfect girl for it. I was a little bit worried though, he said he couldn't tell me what the job was until after I'd signed the papers and had this meeting with him. He told me it was very confidential though all I needed to do was be pretty, a good actress and be able to cope with a lot of pressure. I wasn't too sure about it though he said it would come with a place for me and my son to stay and I would be payed a lot of money.

After considering it I accepted and signed the papers. He arranged for me to come to his office today so he could tell me more about the job and what exactly it is that I had to do.

I nervously entered the building searching for his office until I found the door with a gold name plaque on the wall reading "Jack McKenzie"

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

Almost instantly it opened and Jack stood there with a pleased smile on his face.

"Hayley, do come in" he said welcoming me into his office.

I took a seat on one the two black leather chairs infront of his desk as he took a seat behind his desk.

Before either of us could say anything there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" Jack called causing the door to open.

Oh my god

It's him.

No, it can't be.

Wait

Yes it is

Am I dreaming?

Is this really happening?

It's him

It's Niall..

Niall Horan.

I sat there in shock, not able to breath as Niall Horan walked into the office flashing me a small smile as he sat down on the chair next to me.

Niall Horan.

Member of the world famous boyband, One Direction.

Also the boy I had adored and loved ever since one direction came together on the X Factor back in 2010.

I've been a major fangirl all through my teenage years until I went to college.

This feels like a dream.

"Hi, I'm Niall" he states, interrupting my thoughts. He held out his hand for me to shake.

"H-hi, I'm H-Hayley" I stuttered as I shook his hand.

Dammit Hayley why did you have to stutter!

His hand felt so soft.

I looked at Jack to see the smirk on his face. He's known since I met him in college how much of a fan I am of the 5 boys, especially Niall. He knew how much I wanted to scream, jump around and even cry right now although I couldn't, i had to be professional.

"Okay I'll explain what your both doing here. Niall recently we've seen that you've not had much attention from the press and the rest of management have decided if you had a girlfriend then that would give you some good publicity. Although obviously you do not have a girlfriend therefore we have hired one to act as your girlfriend."

"What?!" Niall asked completely taken a back by Jack.

"Hayley will be your fake girlfriend" Jack said.

"What?!" Niall and I said at the exact same time.

"Jack! what the hell are you thinking?!" I asked frustrated that my job was to be some fake ass girlfriend.

"It's only for a few months don't worry!" Jack said scratching the back of his head.

"What the hell! I don't want a fake girlfriend! I don't need a fucking girlfriend!" Niall exclaimed standing up in frustration.

"Jack, you never told me this was the job! I'm sorry it's too personal, I don't wanna go through with it!" I said refusing to agree with him. He was being ridiculous. This is wrong.

I've loved Niall since I watched his audition though if I was ever going to be close to him I'd rather not be some fake girlfriend. He's going to hate me.

"It's too late Hayley, you already signed the papers! The deal is done! I'm sorry but it's all of management's decision, not mine. Neither of you have a choice, your going to be a fake couple for 3 months. No exceptions." Jack said leaning back in his chair.

"This is fucking sick!" Niall said pacing around back and forth.

I watched as his beautiful blue eyes lit up in anger and as he put his hand through his hair in frustration.

"The tour starts tomorrow, Hayley you'll be coming with us, Niall you can leave now, there's a few things I have to run by Hayley." Jack said.

"Thank god, I can't wait to get the hell out of this stupid office!" Niall shouted leaving the office, slamming the door behind him causing you to jump.

"Jack, I can't do this, what were you thinking? you know how much Niall means to me, I don't want him to hate me" you said looking down.

"I'm sorry Hayley but it's the best job for you, it pays incredibly well and your baby and come with us. We can hire a babysitter to come with us aswell to look after him when you can't while your out with Niall." He said getting papers out of his drawer.

"Is there not anything else? I really don't wanna do this to Niall" I said with pleading eyes.

"I'm sorry Hayley but it's this or nothing, and you've got a son to think if now, you can't afford to have no job. Here's some information on everything you need to know. The tour starts in 3 days so you better start packing. I'm sorry I know this job isn't ideal but if it gets hard just remember, your doing this for your son" He said handing me the papers as I got up to leave.

"Oh and Hayley!" Jack called before I shut the door.

"You can't tell anyone it's fake, if you do that you lose all your money. Bye now, take care" he said. I sighed before leaving and closing the door behind me.

What have I just gotten myself into..
