On the planet Mobius, Dr. Ivo Robotnik also known as Doctor Eggman along with his robotic creations want to take over the planet to establish the Eggman Empire. To do this, he needs the seven Chaos Emeralds. However, a group known as the Freedom Fighters have stopped Eggman's plans time after time again. The group is lead by a princess and a blue hedgehog. Their names are Sonic the Hedgehog and Sally Acorn.
This time, the doctor has acquired all seven Emeralds. This time, the Freedom Fighters will need help. However, the four kids that will help Sonic and his group are from another world.
