Stage 2: The Meeting

Team RWBY continued wondering around the forest. Blake's ears twitched a bit as she heard a rustling in the bushes. She then looked at the bush while reaching for her weapon, Gambol Shroud. Yang look at her partner as she readies her gauntlets, Ember Celica. "Blake. What's wrong?" She asked as Weiss and Ruby held their weapons in case of an attack. The four girls stand back to back with one another as a blue funnel cloud appears around them. The funnel cloud fades as a blue hedgehog stands in front of them. Team RWBY looked down at the hedgehog. They were confused as hedgehogs aren't normally blue. Nor do they wear shoes. "Is that a blue porcupine with shoes?" Yang said while lower her gauntlets. Blake, Ruby, and Weiss lowered their weapons as well.

"I'm not a porcupine! I'm a hedgehog." The blue colored creature said as he huffed while folding his arms. Team RWBY's eyes widened as they started to panic. "What the-!?" They said in unison. Ruby looked at the blue hedgehog. "You can talk!?"

The hedgehog looked at the four girls. He then noticed the gem Ruby was holding. "A Chaos Emerald." Sonic approached Ruby slowly. But when he did, Yang, Weiss, and Blake got in front of their team leader as an act of defense. Sonic stopped as he tilt his head. He noticed the weapons that Team RWBY were holding. Two more creatures arrived. One being a Tails and the other was Knuckles. Both were a bit exhausted. "Sonic. Next time, slow do will ya!" Knuckles said while panting. He then looked at the four girls. "Who are they?" The echidna noticed Team RWBY's weapons and the Chaos Emerald in Ruby's hand as Knuckles came up with his own conclusion. "Oh I see! They're working for Doctor Eggman." Knuckles started getting into a fighting stance. Tails looked at Knuckles as the two-tailed yellow fox felt a bit cautious about Knuckles' next move. "Knuckles. We can't just assume these girls are-." Tails was cut off by Knuckles launching himself at Ruby. But Yang intervenes and uppercuts the red echidna. "Leave my sister alone!" She yelled as Knuckles was launched in the air by Yang's uppercut.

Knuckle quickly recovered as he growled in anger from the punch he received from a girl who is sixty-three centimeters taller than him. "Is that all you got?" Knuckles said as he dives down from the sky while readying his fists. Yang noticed and smirked as she jumped up. She punched Knuckles' fists which caused her gauntlets to blast on Knuckles. The echidna was sent flying again but this time towards a tree due to the impact of Yang's gauntlets. Knuckles' body slammed against the tree which made a crater big enough that made the tree Knuckles was stuck in wabble back and forth. Until, the tree collapse. It was falling towards Tails. Ruby used her semblance to dash towards Tails. She then uses her weapon, Crescent Rose to cut the tree in half. Ruby looked at the twin-tailed fox with a concerned look. "Are you okay?" Ruby asked. Tails nods with a smile. Sonic looked at Ruby and noticed the trail of rose pedals. He smirked as he approached Ruby. "You're quick. How did you run that fast?" Sonic asked. The only one the blue hedgehog knew that are as fast as him is well another hedgehog.

Ruby looked at Sonic. "Thanks." She said as she shows the hedgehog the emerald she has. "You saw me holding this crystal. Do you know what it does?" Sonic nods as he heard Ruby's statement. "That's a Chaos Emerald you have there." Sonic points to the emerald. Ruby and Sonic look at the red gem. Tails, Weiss, and Blake look at the emerald as well. "So what does it do?" Blake asked. Tails looked at the three girls. "A Chaos Emerald is a miracle gem that have powerful properties and abilities. There are seven of them throughout the world. There's seven of them in total." Tails explained to the three girls. Blake, Ruby, and Weiss looked at one another and looked back at Sonic and Tails. "They're mostly used to power up machines, warp time and space, and even give me a big power boost." Sonic said which caused the three girl's jaws to drop. A ringing noise can be heard on Tails' wrist. He slowly rolled up the cuff on one of his gloves to reveal a communication device.

Sonic and Tails looked at one another. "Probably Sal." He said which made the three huntresses confused. Blake noticed Yang was still fight Knuckles. But the two were slowly getting tired. "You got a mean punch for one of Eggman's lackeys." Yang was started to get annoyed by Knuckles' words. "For the last damn time, I don't know who that is!" She told him.

Sonic and Ruby noticed Yang and Knuckles are still fighting. "They're still at it?" Sonic groans with a facepalm. "Yang! Cut it out will you!" Weiss yelled. Yang looked towards her teammates. "Try telling that to him!" She replied as Knuckles punched Yang in the stomach. Sonic sigh as he curled up into a ball and speed dashed towards Knuckles. The echidna gets hit by Sonic as he falls on the ground. Sonic helped his red friend up as the blue hedgehog then received a punch in the back of the head. "Ah! You knucklehead! That hurt." Sonic said rubbing the back of his head. Knuckles growls a bit. "That's what you get for getting in my way! Now, I'm going to bring the Master Emerald back to Angel Island."

Sonic then folded his arms as he looked at his hotheaded echidna friend. "And where exactly did you put it before you and blondie fought." He said which caused Yang to fold her arms and pout. Knuckles thinks for a minute. His eyes widened as he began looking. "Oh god where is it!" The echidna yelled. Sonic and Tails looked at Knuckles with a deadpan face expression. The hedgehog and twin-tailed fox look back at Team RWBY. "Come on I know a place where we can answer all of your questions." Tails said to the four girls as him and Sonic walked deep in a forest. Team RWBY looked at one another. "Whoever these small creatures are, they know more about this place and these emeralds. Hopefully, they can help us get home." Weiss said as her teammates nod, agreeing with the Ice Queen's statement. The four girls follow Sonic and Tails into the forest.

Mean while at Eggman's base, the round shaped doctor was in his chambers grumbling in anger and frustration. "That pesky little pincushion! Always ruining my plans!" The doctor slammed his fist on a table. But he the came up with a idea. "Wait that's it! I'll just make robot that is basically Sonic's equal in both speed and in battle." He said as he laughs maniacally. While laughing, the doctor loses his balance, then pushed a button on accident. His monitors show Knuckles fighting a human girl with blonde hair. Eggman regained his composure. His eyes noticed the fight being viewed on the screen. The doctor pays close attention to the girl as he rubs a finger under his chin. "Oh! What do we have here?"
