I look down at my baby girl. Shes laughing and smiling at me. Even with her perfect face I can't help but think of how she came into the world, and who helped make her. I think of how he left, not knowing about her, but if he knew he still wouldn't have cared. It's been a little over a year since I have seen him. And truth be told I don't think I ever got over him...

"Kasey! Time for school, hurry or you will be late. I cannot take Tori to day care today, so you have to. KASEY!"

"God mom! I'm up" I said going to Tori's crib to get her dressed, "Mom can you feed the baby while I take a shower?"

"I have to be at work in an hour, you better be quick," then I saw her enter my room, "Come here my sweet, sweet, baby."

Tori is five months old now, I was pregnant originally with twins. I was at cheer leading practice, when one of the girls lost her balance and I fell headfirst. While I was being rushed to the hospital they kept asking me questions, none that I could understand at the time. When I was being checked on, they asked me if I knew I was pregnant. I had no clue. The doctor told me that one baby died because of the blow, but Tori was behind the other baby and suffered no injuries as far as they could tell. I was so scared of doing it on my own. I could just imagine what my mom would say, and what people at school would say behind my back. This sounds cliche, but up until I got pregnant I was at the top of my school, the IT girl.

"Kasey I am leaving now. You have twenty minutes to make it to school. So hurry!"

"Ok mom, I am almost done. Chill out."

"Watch your mouth young lady!"

"Yes mother."

*Forty minutes later*

"Sorry, sorry. I know I'm late." Chad gave me that 'not again look', "I know Chad, I had to take Tori to day care and they were late opening. If you waited for me in the morning then we would not be having this issue you know."

"Kasey if I waited for you in the mornings I would be out of a job because you are always late. And I told you not to call me by my first name in class."

"You're right, sorry Mr. Saunders. Will not happen again."

"Take your seat." Mr. Saunders, Chad, is my step dad. My mom met him seven months ago at a parent-teacher conference. They got married a month ago, talk about fast, right?

"So, as I was saying, the British govern-" my time to tune out, the marriage works out in my favor when I need extra tutoring after school.

"Kase! Kase!" I hear Elaina yelling for me.

"What?! I am trying to act like I am listening, if he doesn't think that I am listening then I will have to hear him at home whining about how I am disrespectful. Then he starts to talk about the daughter of a teacher needs to be the main one listening and contributing. If you were a good friend you would not talk to me right now." After I finished my speech I hear her laughing at me.
