Tray's PoV:
The ride was long and quiet, minus Daniel and Anna talking and the occasional squeak of the tires when we hit a bump in the road. Brandy had fallen asleep, and the little girl still hasn't woken up, I'm gonna be honest with you, it kinda, not it did worry me. She should've been awake by now. I can't imagine what her family is feeling and thinking, there's no doubt in my mind they were frantically looking for their little girl, who they'd seen for the last time hours ago. It sucks what we were putting her family and her through. I just hope that we can get her back home...I really do.
After what seems like another lifetime the van finally stops, making Brandy wake up abruptly. I lean over and tenderly kiss her temple, letting her know she is safe. "Where are we?" Her voice raspy and crackly from sleep, "It's okay love, I think we stopped at a gas station or something. Once we get moving you can go back to sleep if you want, I just don't want either of the two knuckle futzes to yell at you or anything." She nods, smiling at me sleepily. "I need to get out and stretch my legs Tray. Can you help me get out?" "Of course Bran." I smile and gently move the little girl off Brandy's lap, and gently lay her on the blanket beside where Brandy was sitting. "Did she take the play dress off or did you, Brandy?" She glances over, seeing the little girl in black leggings and a white tank top. "She must've Bran, I'm just glad she had clothes on underneath it." I smile and help my mate out of the van, I shut the doors, leaving the one open a little and lean on the side of the van, keeping watch for any enemy wolves. I won't lie and say that a part of me doesn't wish that the little girl would wake up and run, because it did. Maybe not just a part, all of me did. She needed to run and never turn back.
Nebula's PoV:
it feels like I am in a boat. The world was seemed to spin, dip and dive. it made my stomach twist and lurch until it seemed to be fastened in a knot. Everything sounded muted like I was being submerged in water. Words and sounds fused together into one big jumble of muffled nonsense. It feels like I'm floating in the air, yet drowning at the same time. It's hard to breathe, it feels there's a two-ton weight sitting on my chest, threatening to crush me.
Nothing seems right. Am I dead? Is this what death feels like? Can I really be dead? But I never got to say goodbye, hug my mom one last time, hear my grandma tell me a story before I went to bed one more time. I was supposed to have a ballet show this weekend, and I let my team down. So this is death? It's really cold, and dark. But the dark, maybe that's what is different. It wasn't scary, suffocating or anything like that. It felt safe, inviting.
The sounds slowly stop melding with everything, it sounds like I'm being pulled from the water to the surface, someone is saving me, I hope. Cold slowly seeps into my skin, my eyes feel like the glue that was holding them together disappears completely. I slowly open my eyes, the light feels like daggers piercing my eyes, I cover them with my hand and slowly sit up, the world sways. Black surrounds the edges of my eyes, it's like I'm in a tunnel looking down to the end with the light. But it doesn't feel like I'm in a tunnel, it feels like I'm in the back of a van or something. Did sam pick me up? But I can't remember her ever coming to Mabel's house. Where am I?!
I blink my eyes trying to adjust to the light. My head is pounding, it feels like someone is hitting my head with a sledgehammer, but I'm not passing out. I reach my hand out in front of me to try and gain a sense of my surroundings, my hand comes into contact with cold, hard, metal. I shakily get to my knees and try to stand, I grab onto the seat behind me and pull myself up. The world dips and spins. I squeeze my eyes shut tight, hoping the world will regain its balance. I crack an eye open and release the breath I was holding seeing it still. I stand on my own, and gradually make my way towards the open door in front of me. Maybe if I escape I can find my way home. But...I don't know where I am nor how far we are away from my house. That doesn't matter, I need to run.
I make my way to the door and look out of the open area, it looks like we are at some sort of gas station, that means they will be back any second if I wanna run, I need to go. I squeeze myself through the small gap and jump onto the macadam below. The world around me sways, I can feel myself teetering, but I refuse to let my self slip, and force my foot forward towards the treeline, then the other, and again and again. I soon hear leaves and grass under my feet, I keep going, each step getting me closer to safety...or at least I hope it is.
"Hey! She's getting away!" I hear someone yell from behind me. No. I push myself forwards, running faster, away from whoever is chasing me. I hear yells, growling and crashing behind me only making me run faster. I keep running forward. I soon hear thuds behind me...they're chasing after me. I push myself faster, towards hope, safety, anything but this.
The thuds grow louder, the cries, the growling, everything grows louder. They're catching up; why can't they just leave me alone?! What did I do to deserve this? Then the unthinkable happens... I trip over a root and fall to the ground. The screams from behind me grow louder and so do the footsteps, but wait; there's more than two...there's four. They sent a dog after me...but no, that's not possible, no doors opened, there was no dog in the van, then how did they get a dog? Maybe it wasn't a dog at all.
Something warm hit's my face pulling me from my thoughts, I slowly look up and come face to face...well face to snout with a blonde wolf with blood red eyes. Tears fall from my face, and I swear I hear the wolf laugh. "ANNA LEAVE HER ALONE!" Someone shouts from behind the wolf who is pinning me to the ground, the wolf doesn't move nor acknowledge the yelling. She takes her paw and slowly lets her claws out. The tears fall faster, I hear someone scream, then slowly realize that...I'm the one screaming, my throat feels raw and sore, It's clear ive been screaming for longer than I realize. Someone help me, anyone just take me away from this.
A piercing pain blooms in my right side, I can't feel it at first, I'm numb, but it gradually comes into reality. I scream, but no noise comes out. Warm liquid runs down my side and decorates the forest floor. Red. Maroon. Crimson. Black.
