Liam's POV

The food has been delivered here, and it looks delicious right now. I look up at Alice, and she is looking back at me. I smile at her and pick up my fork to begin eating my meal.

I ordered spaghetti and she ordered some macaroni and cheese. Steam was coming from both of our plates, preventing us from actually taking a bite of it.

“So do you like it here so far?” I asked her trying to start a conversation.

She nods her head. “Yeah, it seems nice here. What about you? Do you like this restaurant?”

“Well I picked the place out, so I had to of been here before. And since I’m a returning customer, that means I must like the place,” I tell her.

“Good point,” she says while scooping up a spoonful of macaroni and eating it.

I wonder if it tastes as good as the spaghetti will. This is what I usually order here since I never order anything else on the menu. I’m not sure why. I guess I’m not one to try new things. I start eating some spaghetti myself. What should I say to her now? Should we just continue eating in silence?

Oddly enough, I never really took Sofia to restaurants, so I’ve never been in this position before. She always prefers take out or one of us making the meal. I can see why, random people would come up to me and starting crowding around us. That hasn’t happened here yet, and I hope it stays that way.

I begin to eat faster in an attempt to get out of here quicker.

Alice noticed my increased and eating speed and asked, “Why are you suddenly eating so fast?”

Should I tell her the real reason? I don’t really want to, but being crowded around and recognized is a part of being famous. “I just realized how hungry I was and didn’t want my stomach to growl or anything,” I answer her.

She looks confused. “Well if you want to leave here you can just tell me so.”

I shift uncomfortably in my chair. “No, it’s fine here.”

A few short minutes later and I have finished all of my food. I look at Alice’s plate, and it’s only half empty. I frown, not sure what to do anymore.

“I can just get this for take out so we can leave now,” she says. It seems like she knows that I want to leave here.

“You don’t have to,” I say in an attempt to not rush her, but a waitress nearby heard must have heard Alice because she has a take-out container in hand.

Alice takes it and says, “Thank you,” to the waitress. She carefully slides her food into the container and closes it. “Liam, you have some sauce on your face.”

“Where? Can you help me get it off?” I ask her. How am I not aware of this?

“Sure,” she says and holds a napkin and begins to wipe the sides of my mouth.

“Thanks,” I say to her as we both stand up to leave.

“You’re welcome.”

We exit the restaurant and go towards the back parking lot. There were a few groups of girls just standing there. Maybe they won’t recognize me if we quickly walk to the car.

I walk faster while holding hands with Alice, so I am pulling her with me. Once we reach the car, I open the door quickly and let Alice go in first.

I heard one of the girl's scream my name and I went right in the car, and close the door before any of them could see me again. I don't like doing this to them, but I just want some privacy sometimes. Maybe another time I would like to meet with them and have a normal conversation.

"That was close," I said while letting out a breath. "We are ready to go back home," I tell the driver, and we are leaving the place before the girl's have time to reach us.
