aria's p.o.v.

shattered.

exactly what i felt in that moment, as jack walked away.

"well, ok, then," corbyn says, as he continues on with the game.

however, i take my headphones off, and let myself die in the game.

"aria? why didn't you-" corbyn cuts off his sentence as he looks over at me, realizing the state i was in.

corbyn sighs as he gets up and sits directly next to me.

"you don't need him. he's a jerk for hurting your feelings like that, even though he may not even know he did..." corbyn tries to comfort me, trailing off.

"he can run off with that girl. it doesn't matter. we can be single pringles forever!" corbyn exclaims, raising his arms.

"besides. it was his stupid idea to leave someone as good as you."

corbyn doesn't fail at comforting me, though. in an instant, the corners of my mouth are starting to form a smile, as we get back to playing the game.

jack's p.o.v.

i enter starbucks, and immediately spot gabbie waiting for me in one of the stalls.

she beams at me once she realized i have entered, and hands me a drink she seemed to have already bought for me.

i fake a small smile as i slump down into the seat across from her.

i take a moment to look at the type of drink she had ordered: peppermint mocha frappuccino. she doesn't know that i actually hate peppermint, but i don't take the chance to tell her that.

"so???" she says, her smile so big it seems as if it's going to fall off her face.

"uhm, i like it," i say, hoping that'll answer whatever she was expecting.

"ok! great! so... you know that girl you've been hanging out with a lot?" she asks, stirring the straw in her drink as she talks.

"what? aria?" i ask, putting my drink down.

"yeah. are you two a thing or something?" she asks, eyes hopeful.

i take a moment to respond, "how do you even know about aria?"

she rolls her eyes at this, "jack, there's this thing called social media, you know."

"well, then, no. we aren't really a thing," i say, slumping into my chair a little further.

this seems to satisfy gabbie. "well, would you consider us being a thing then?" she asks, eyebrows raised and her lips pulled into a smirk.

i think.

"sure. but you gotta do what i say."
