aria's p.o.v.

"I'M HOME!!!" i hear a faint shout from downstairs, probably jack.

i turn to corbyn, but before i could even say anything, he stops me.

"don't do anything. he deserves to be ignored right now," he says, not taking his eyes off the computer screen.

as much as i know how right corbyn is, i really want to talk to jack right now.

"i kind of want to talk to him," i mumble.

corbyn takes off his headphones, looking at me with an 'are you serious?' look on his face.

"really?"

"mhm."

he thinks for a moment, "well, if you really want to, i'm not stopping you. but i'm just advising you not to."

i shrug at this and end up taking off my own headphones, starting for the stairs.

i cautiously take my steps, not really knowing what to expect.

i enter the living room when i see jack and some girl i've never seen before cuddling and watching a movie on the couch.

at first, i was a little confused. but then i put two and two together, and realize that the girl is the person jack was going to 'meet up' with.

the girl looked like she was having the time of her life. what was strange to me, though, was that it looked like jack didn't feel the same.

he seemed like he wanted to throw his arm off of the girl's shoulder, and his face remained expressionless.

i shrugged it off, though, and ended up not knowing what to do, now that i was literally right in front of jack. but before i could say anything, jack had seen me.

"oh, hey, aria!" jack says with a sly grin, and i can tell the girl tenses up at the mention of my name.

he points to the girl, "this is gabbie. i met her on tinder." gabbie waves, a smirk on her face.

"uh.. hi."

"well, ok," jack says, and goes back to watching the movie.

at this point, i couldn't really take it anymore. i make a beeline for the stairs, nearly tripping over myself as i rush into corbyn's room.

corbyn looks up from his game, "you ok? you look like you just ran the marathon."

i take a moment to catch my breath.

"uhm, yeah.. i'm fine. no worries," i say, barely audible, and sit back on the bed, putting my headphones back on.

"you don't seem 'fine' to me," corbyn says, coming over to me.

"spill."

i don't hesitate.

"jack brought home the girl he met on tinder! and literally all i said was 'uhhhhhhhhh hi'! i felt like i was gonna puke," i ramble, flopping down on the bed, lying down.

corbyn shrugs, and just puts his headphones back on.

i sit up, "this isn't a big deal to you?! it was humiliating!"

"i kind of expected that. it was exactly why i advised you not to go down and talk to him," he points out, eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he gains a kill in the game.

i lay back on the bed.

"now what am i going to do?"

"he'll give up soon enough. just watch."
