Chapter 4

Elijah parked his car and stormed through the house towards his siblings. Rebekah was so relieved to see him.

“Thank God you’re home; Nik is being a total arse.”

Rebekah glared back at her ‘half-brother’ in disgust. She did like to remind him he was only her half-brother when he annoyed her.

Elijah walked purposefully towards a smiling Klaus who was about to take a sip of his bourbon from his fine cut crystal glass. He knocked the glass straight from his hand and it shattered into tiny pieces as it hit the floor. Rebekah jumped and Klaus just looked up as Elijah leaned over where Klaus was sitting.

“Tell me brother what diabolical acts are you carrying out that made our sister call me?”

Klaus rested his arms on the rests of his chair as he relaxed back looking up at a very angry Elijah.

“Why the face Elijah, tell me did our dear little sister drag you away from something important?”

Much to both his siblings surprise Elijah took hold of Klaus’ throat and sneered down at his young brother.

“You have no idea where I have come from or indeed the copious amount of trouble you have caused me.”

Elijah somehow found the strength to calm down a little, sighing he released Klaus throat and stood back straight and adjusted his tie while he tried to regain his composure.

Klaus was very interested as to why Elijah was so on edge, maybe he had something he was planning too.

“That was very passionate of you Elijah; don’t tell me you have found another witch that has taken your fancy.”

Elijah was very close to the edge now, Klaus had dragged him away from the woman he loved and was sat here mocking him. The times Rebekah had told Elijah to leave Klaus as he would never allow them to be happy yet still he stayed, always trying to save his brother. Oh how he wished he had been more selfish and just walked away, why did he have to be the one who tried to hold their family together? Elijah closed his eyes but all he could see was the anger and hurt in Scarlet’s eyes. But back in big brother mode he opened his eyes and sighed.

“So what are you doing? What is going on?”

Rebekah moved between her two brothers, she was concerned about Elijah’s state of mind right now. This was far more than Elijah being angry with something Klaus had done and that he would have to deal with.

“Nik seems to be under the impression the witches are plotting against him…”

Elijah snorted a derogatory laugh.

“Well of course Niklaus, the whole world revolves around you.”

“I can’t help it if they are scared of me therefore they have to try to destroy me… And some of them need to be taught a lesson.”

 “What did you do?”

Klaus practically beamed with pride at his actions as he spoke in almost a whisper.

“Well what does one do with a convicted witch?”

Elijah closed his eyes he could see Klaus burning witches at the stake, it was so him, so dramatic.

“Niklaus must you really do all this? Can you not just get people to find out what is going on first?”

Klaus walked towards Elijah and he stopped as they stood side by side, smiling he patted Elijah’s shoulder.

“My way is just so much fun…”

Klaus walked out of the room just as he exited he turned round and popped his head around the corner.
