Elijah woke first feeling the warmth of the sun coming through the cream and burgundy curtains. As always they had to most wonderful night, talking watching some television and even Elijah reading a book to Scarlet. She had never really been much of a reader but Elijah was such a bookworm she enjoyed it when he shared his reading with her. The fact the words rolled off his tongue like silk was another wonderful reason to listen to him.
He looked at the auburn haired beauty sleeping by his side; he often wondered how someone like himself ever deserved a woman like her. It was so easy to see what Kol loved about her, she was fun and so full of life and love and she also a cheeky side to her. At the start Elijah just wanted to take care of her, when he heard her distress and anger in her messages she left for Kol he knew he needed to comfort her and allow her time to grieve for Kol. He just had never expected to fall in love and he got the opinion that Scarlet hadn’t either.
Elijah’s cast his smouldering gaze over her naked shoulders but he couldn’t resist touching her soft pale skin so he brushed his lips over her shoulder. Scarlet moaned slightly in her sleep but didn’t move. Elijah looked at the bedside clock and noticed it was 7.30, panic set in and he jumped out of bed, he grabbed some clean boxer shorts from the drawer and hurried to the kitchen to make some breakfast, If Scarlet was late for work she would go crazy and he always got the blame as she said she was never late when he wasn’t there over night.
He busied himself making coffee and toast and he placed it all on the dining table, it was too late for her to have breakfast in bed because she would be panicking about getting to work on time and wouldn’t enjoy it so this way would be better. Elijah opened the bedroom door and gazed at his sleeping beauty, he needed to wake her, it was such a shame to disturb her, she looked so relaxed and so beautiful. He sat on the bed beside Scarlet and ran a gentle finger over her forehead.
“Scarlet, time to wake up beautiful.”
Leaning forwards he placed some tiny butterfly kisses on her cheek, he was rewarded with a little smile forming on her lips
“Mmm.”
She murmured, turning over onto her back. Opening her eyes she saw the familiar dark brown orbs looking at her. There was something about Elijah, he smiled with his eyes, and it would light the whole of his face up.
“Hi gorgeous, how long have you been up?”
Scarlet sat up and stretched her body like a cat does, log elegant movements. As she looked at Elijah she realised he wasn’t dressed and wiggled her eyebrows at him suggestively. Laughing Elijah stood up and tapped her nose with his little finger.
“It is 7.45 and I don’t think you will find we have enough time. I’ve got breakfast ready for you and I will grab a shower now so you can eat then jump in the shower.”
Scarlet pouted but of course she knew how practical he always was and she wouldn’t want to be late anyway. Scarlet shouted as Elijah headed into the shower.
“What do you want me to get out of the closet for you?”
Elijah thought for a moment before he answered.
“Grey suit, white shirt and……”
Before he had a chance to answer Scarlet called back to him.
“….Burgundy tie!”
Elijah smiled; he never bothered to question what she thought regarding clothes because she knew exactly what she was talking about.
After his shower Elijah walked back into the bedroom with a towel around his waist as Scarlet headed his way to jump in the shower herself. She took a mouthful of her coffee and swallowed it as she handed the mug to Elijah and gave him a quick kiss as she passed by.
