Corentin overcame it.

He woke up one morning deciding that it was over. He took a shower, drank a hot coffee, brushed his teeth and left for training.

In his way, he deleted all the memories of Joyce in his phone. The selfies, the videos, the screenshots. It was all gone. Once there, he decided to focus on football again. He needed something else to focus on; it was right in front of him. The next days, he did the same. Joyce may not be here anymore to support him, but it did not mean that he had to stop. He was not living for Joyce, he was not playing for Joyce. He was doing all of these things for himself.

That's when everything changed: when Corentin remembered that he was a human being. An entire human being, not a half or a quarter.

He did not need Joyce to exist. And the fact that she decided to leave was just another proof of that. And it was not his fault. It was her fault. It was her fault if she decided that he was not enough, it was her fault if she did not want him in her life anymore. It was her fault if she had replaced him. Because in reality, you can't replace a person. All you can do is find someone to take their place in your heart; but it won't replace the other person. Never. Because they are different. Because every person that we love have a little something that we cannot define that creates this particular link.

He did not care if Joyce was happier without him.

He knew that he would do everything in his power to be happier without her.
