“Well, aren’t you lucky I came right on time.” The monster spoke as he stood, looking down at Mike.

Mike couldn’t understand what happened before his eyes. First was Ms. Tessa with her weird eyes, then Brian’s changing skin color, and now this… thing… talking to him so casually as if he didn’t just murdered someone. He couldn’t think of what might possibly occur next.

As the Reddish-purple guy walks closer to him, Mike scoots away at the same time. He couldn’t trust some purple weirdo, who technically did save him, but the demon offered his clawed-hand out to help him stand up. Mike stared at it, unsure if he should take it or not. On one hand, the guy is strong and can easily kill him. On the other hand, it didn’t seem like the guy has that hungry aura similar to Brian and Ms. Tessa.

So maybe, just maybe, this guy is worth trusting. Mike grabbed the hand and stood up.

“Who... what are…were those?” He asked and pointed at Brian and his pals.

“The name’s Albert.” The Maroon guy -Albert- said, “And we’re demons.”

“D-demons?” Mike stares at the bodies warily.

“They’re here for some juicy ass.” Albert said, a lecherous grin on his face and eyes Mike from head to toe and back up again.

“What the-?” Mike looked back at Albert so fast, the demon found it hilarious. He threw his head back, cackling at the man. “I’m just messin’ with ya.”

“They’re actually after you.” Albert said as he composed himself.

“Yeah. No shit, Sherlock.” Mike rolled his eyes.

“But why?” He asked more to himself than to the demon beside him.

“It’s because you’re special.” Albert said as he starts walking around Mike.

“Your soul can make any demon powerful.”

  “What? How?!” Mike asked surprised.

“Well…” Albert stopped in front of him. “That I don’t know.”

“Wow, so helpful.” Mike said sarcastically.

“Hey man, I just killed that hungry demon for you, a simple ‘thanks’ would be nice. If you are NICE.” He sneered.

“Thanks, but how am I gonna keep these dem—“

“Hey, I’d love to talk more,” Albert interrupted Mike’s sentence, “But it’s not safe here. Demons are coming in closer.”

Albert started chanting some sort of spell around Mike’s house. Mike, who was sitting on his bed, would ask what’s it for but he’s too worried about himself and what’s currently happening in his life to even bother.

“This spell will keep the demons out of your house.” Albert told Mike, soon after he finished chanting. ‘So that’s what it was for.’

“It will keep you safe for now, especially when more and more demons are becoming aware of the power inside you.”

“Does this mean I have to stay in this house forever?” Mike asked anxiously.

“No, the spell won’t protect you forever. You need someone to protect you.” Albert answered.

Mike stayed silent, unsure of where this is going and he doesn’t like it.

“You see, I’m no ordinary Demon,” Albert continued as he kneeled in front of Mike. “I’m a hunter. Killing demons is my job. And since those demons are attracted to you, I suggest we make a deal.”

  “What deal?”

“You need protection, and I need to kill the demons here on earth, so—”

“So in short, you’re asking me to be a bait.” Mike cut Albert off.

“Well… I wouldn’t put it that way, but… yes, basically. I’ll kill every demon that comes after you, and you can continue on with your life. That’s it.”

“That’s it?” Mike felt dubious. “No blood sacrifice or anything?”

“You want something more?” Albert teased.

“N-no, no… it’s good haha.” He laughed it off awkwardly. “So how do we do this? Do I have to write something with my blood? Do I need candles and a bible or something? You can’t find a ‘How to make a deal with the devil’ tutorial on YouTube you know.”

Albert materialized a knife from nowhere and cut his palm with it without flinching. Then he handed the knife to Mike who was reluctant at first but took it anyways.

“Cut your palm like I did and hold my hand.” Albert commanded.

Mike looked at his pale hand and immediately cut it. He closed his eyes, hoping the pain would go away immediately, and opened it as soon as the pain lessened. He held Albert’s hand, making their blood mix inside.

“I am Alastor and I accept the deal.” Albert said. “Now it’s your turn, say your full name.”

“I am Michael Adams…and I accept the deal.” Mike complied.

The stingy, painful feeling on Mike’s palm disappeared. When they let go, their palms, is now marked with a red pentagram, in exchange for the wounds they had earlier.

“And that’s how you make a deal with a devil, Michael.” Albert said.

“Just Mike, please. I like the name ‘Alastor’ better than ‘Albert’.” Mike joked.

“Hey, Just call me Albert, okay? It’s too dangerous throwing my real name wherever I go. But since I have to make a deal with you, I can give you my real name. But don’t go calling me with ‘Alastor’ and DEFINITELY don’t tell anyone about my name… my whole existence in general. You don’t want to be on my bad side.” Albert insisted.

“Sure thing, Albert.” Mike affirmed the demon despite harboring his own doubts.

  The deal is now made.
