"I heard that a bird's wingspan corresponds to... other parts," Lysandra said giggling with Aelin. They had clearly thought about this before.

"Go on Rowan shift," Aelin urged, pulling a measuring tape out from who knows where.

"Aelin," Rowan said giving her a pointed look with a stern face.

"To whatever end, Buzzard," she said slyly.
"I see how it is," he replied. "Fine," he walked towards Aelin. "Only if you can catch me!" With that, he shifted into a beautiful white-tailed hawk and bolted for the balcony.

It shouldn't be a surprise anymore that Aelin always thought ahead. She whipped her arm out and sent a fire dragon on the hawk's tail.

A bright flash and Rowan was vigorously patting his hair and clothes and jumping about. Everyone burst out laughing, even Manon.

"Does anyone else smell burnt chicken!" Aedion shouted out through his laugh.

Rowan walked straight to Aelin looking down at her and giving her a deadly glare. She just laughed and said, "I do love you darling," and gave him a peck on the lips.

Turning around, he shifted into his hawk form and allowed Lysandra and Aelin to measure his wings. Aelin pulled a notepad out, again out of thin air, and scribbled something down whilst chuckling.

"Well, who's next!" Aelin exclaimed, still chuckling. At that, Dorian, Chaol and Aedion made their way to the door, murmuring pointless excuses under their breathes. Faster than humanly possible, Manon was at the door, blocking the way.

"No you don't, come on Dorian, it's your turn, don't worry it will be fun!" She said in the most un-Manon like way with a cheerful smile. She extended an iron nail and pointed it at his chest, pushing him back. "You're not scared, are you, Princeling?" She asked with a vicious smirk.

"Are you scared, Witching?" He spat out the last word with a sort of disgust and violence- just the way Manon liked it.

"Enough of that, you'll make me sick! Dorian, it's your turn, let's go!" Aelin shouted as they realised they were very close together.

"Truth or dare?" Chaol asked his best friend.

"Dare," he answered.

"You know that book you started reading yesterday, skip to the back and read the last chapter, later, you can read the whole book backwards," Manon said with an evil grin.

Aelin and Dorian stood there frozen, eyes wide, jaws dropped, just staring at Manon.
Instantly Aelin began, "no, you.cant do that! You"ll ruin it all-" Dorian was nodding along with her.

"Oh, but it's ok to SET ME ON FIRE?!" Rowan asked loudly and sarcastically.

"Truth! I choose truth instead!" Dorian countered.

"Fine," Manon firmly said, she definitely knew how to get under his skin.

"Well, Princeling," Rowan began, with a sweet smile, "answer me this, when will you ask Manon out? You know, on a proper date, so you can be girlfriend and boyfriend,"

Aedion, Chaol and Aelin went to high five Rowan. Dorian now gave a pointed stare towards Aelin. She only replied with, "I'm sorry, the King has spoken," she gave a little bow.

When Dorian was sure that he wasn't getting out of this, he turned towards Manon and said, "Manon, Manon Blackbeak Crochan, Queen of the Crochan, will you go on a date with me, and be my girlfriend?"

"...fine," she finally answered. To everyone else it looked forced, but to Dorian, he saw that little uptilt of her lips and saw how she stared deeply, lovingly into his sapphire eyes.
