'Home'

My alarm pulls me from my dream, which I forget immediately, grabbing my phone I triple check to make sure that it's my first day of school at Beaumont Grammar School. Lazily I drag myself out of bed and into my bathroom. Looking in the mirror I see a tired girl with brown eyes, freckles dotted over her cheeks and nose like stars, black shoulder length hair and dark eye bags from sleepless nights. Unlike my old school in America, we have uniforms over here, I'm not complaining. When I make my way downstairs I see my mother sprawled across the sofa reading a book. She looks up when she sees me and smiles, that smile I want to wipe off her face.

'Good morning, are you ready for your first day of school?' she asks in a tone way too cheerful for me to hear at 7 in the morning.

'Well considering I've moved schools multiple times I would say I'm pretty damn experienced.'

She winces at my harsh comment and for a split second, I feel guilty.

'Well today is my first day at work and unlike you, I'm actually going to try'

'What's the point of trying if we are going to pack up and leave?'

'It's going to be different this time.'

'Mum, I'm not 5 anymore, you can't drag me across the globe and expect me to be fine with it.'

'Have you ever thought about how hard this is on me?'

'I would have time to think if I wasn't always worrying about where we are going to end up next! I'm getting late for school.' I say as I grab my bag and walk out the door making sure to slam it on the way out.

Beaumont Grammar was big and when I mean big I mean massive. I knew it was going to be fancy considering the fact that it's a private school but holy moly this was on another level. Bowing my head down I maneuver my way through the almost empty halls, avoiding anybody who looked like trouble. My form room was on the second floor, 5th door to the right. As soon as I walk in 20 pairs of eyes are on me, I'm late.

Authors Note: Yup I know I know these chapters are short but they will get longer as the story develops. Please don't forget to comment and vote. Thank you so much for reading it means a lot to me.
