I groaned internally while looking away to show I was not interested in whatever he had to say. He stopped at the foot of my chair and thrust a piece of paper towards me.
'What's that?' I asked not taking the paper from him,
'It's your timetable I found it on the floor, you're going to have trouble getting to classes without this.' He said with a big smirk on his face. I snatched the paper out of his hand and went back to reading.
'Not even a thank you, wow what's made you so mad?' He asked plopping himself down on the seat next to me.
'Fine, thank you for returning my timetable even though anyone else who would've found it probably would do the same.' I said looking straight into his blue eyes. He laughed at my comment, a slow and deep laugh.
'Touché, you know I like your attitude.'
'Wow, gee thanks I like my attitude too.'
'Well, I gotta head off, see you around Rose.' He said as he winked and stood up.
'Did you just call me by my middle name?'
'I don't know you tell me, Rose.' He said before walking away.
That's when it hit me I didn't even catch his name, or what year he was in. Ugh, people these days don't see the importance of a good introduction.
Finally, the bell went signaling the end of the day, quickly I grabbed my bag and ran to the bus making sure I didn't run into anyone new. After the past month or so I had gotten quite used to Melbourne's public transport, mainly because I didn't want to sit in the car with my mum whenever I wanted to go out. She offered to drive me around a couple of times but I declined.
When I got home, I stood on the street facing our house for a little. For two reasons, I didn't want to face my mother's questions just yet and I was admiring our beautiful home which we would probably sell when moving somewhere else. Our house was very modern and quite large although I didn't doubt that some kids at school had much bigger houses. It has 5 bedrooms although only 2 are used by mother and I. The backyard is big a spacious and holds enough space for a pool which mother was actually thinking of installing. I told her it would be a waste of money cause we weren't going to stay here any longer. Although the thought of a pool in my backyard sounds very appealing, maybe I'll talk to mother about she would probably say yes immediately. Walking into the house I dropped my bag at the bottom of the stairs and ran to the kitchen to grab a snack, to my surprise mum wasn't in the kitchen reading the paper and drinking coffee as she always does. That's when it hit me, she is still at work. Snatching my bag from the floor I stomped up the stairs forgetting to take my dirty shoes off at the door.
