"Is there any food you want to eat? It's all my treat." Mingyu asked. "I don't want to order your favorite, unless if I have your permission. I'm very sorry for that day." He added.
Tzuyu exasperatedly sighed. She didn't want to drag this business any longer. "You don't need to, and besides I'm not hungry." She set aside the menu she was holding a while ago. "Just tell me what you want to say, Mingyu. I'm on all ears."
Mingyu had a pained expression, but nevertheless, he quickly masked it up in a calm expression. He wanted to treat her food, since she liked eating, but he could understand that she doesn't have an appetite especially looking to a person who just hurt her heart. But at least, he wanted to make her mood a bit lighter before discussing the heavy subject.
"Hehe." He chuckled but forced. "Alright then, if that makes you satisfied." He tried to understand her. "I want you to tell that I'm not marrying Sujeong and our engagement's off." He said, eyes not leaving Tzuyu's eyes.
Tzuyu was completely surprised at this information. She remembered Mingyu couldn't break off his engagement with Sujeong because of their family circumstances that are what at least he explained to her, but it pained her that Mingyu wouldn't put up a fight as he wanted to continue their relationship secretly which she disapproved being just a mistress leading to a break-up between them.
She didn't know how to feel at this information. She didn't even know if he's lying.
"Don't think any other thoughts, Tzuyu. I'm only telling the one and only truth, remember? I didn't once lie to you. I even told you my engagement with Sujeong, but my decision back there wasn't wise. I apologize, and yeah, you're right. I should have fought their decision back then. I was a coward, a big one." Tears started to stack in his eyes, which even surprised Tzuyu. "It's ironic that Sujeong brought me back to the correct path, Tzuyu. She was constantly being hurt by my words and actions, and I tried to flirt with many girls in order to forget every problem I had, but she was brave, very brave. She told me that I should stop hurting you and she was the one who broke off our engagement." He clenched his fists, remembering how horrible he was in the past.
This was all too sudden. Tzuyu couldn't believe that Sujeong was the one who stood up, despite she had strong feelings for Mingyu. She felt guilty for thinking Sujeong was a woman in Korean dramas where a woman was evil for stealing the main man away.
His whole body shakes. "I... I-I don't want to lose you, Tzuyu! I made a mistake and I'm truly...! Truly sorry for it! I know I wouldn't get your forgiveness easily, but I will definitely get it! I swear it!" He held her right hand and softly kissed it. She felt his warm tears that immediately turned cold through an air conditioner on her skin.
Tzuyu realized that everyone around them watches their scene which made her embarrassed. "E-Everyone's looking!" She reminded Mingyu.
"It doesn't matter! Then, so be it! They're free to be my witness for this promise." He wasn't embarrassed, in fact, he's determined than ever.
Everyone around them clapped and said words of encouragement, agreed with Mingyu's words, and assurance to report Mingyu if he did something bad to her. This scene touched her, and she could no longer doubt Mingyu. After all, she knew him better and there wasn't a hint of deception in his words.
"You better start then, Mingyu." She smiled in her brightest.

Taehyung waited for Sujeong to arrive at the meeting place. He thought she would be already here, but it seemed like he was too early in the exact time she told him. There was still 50 minutes left until nine o'clock.
