seraphina enters the bus.
finds herself a seat
with a girl completely focused
on her phone.
she had to nudge her
twice to make her aware
they have reached their
destination.
they walk off the bus.
they begin a discussion
while walking into the school.
seraphina introduces
herself to the girl.
presents herself
as vivian olson.
she shakes seraphina's hand.
both shriek in pain.
seraphina and vivian's hands
produce smoke and leave ashes
on their palms.
heads turn around to see
the commotion.
the two girls, out of fear, run away
from one another.
people around them scatter
in chatter.
while one girl whispers to another
with a familiar smile.
