your pov
sean and i have been best friends since forever. we are almost the same person. we do everything together. we know everything about each other. i know all his secrets and he knows all mine. well most of mine. he doesn't know one thing. and that is, my feelings towards him.
i began to catch feelings for sean about a year ago. as much as i want to tell him, i know he doesn't feel the same way. he sees me as a little sister and best friend. nothing else.
"you good y/n?" sean asks when he walks into the room.
i was laying on his bed just staring at the ceiling.
"yea why?" i asked not turning to face him but continuing to stare up. the mattress began to sink down a bit as sean laid down next to me. i turned my head to face him and he was staring at the ceiling too.
"what's so interesting about the ceiling?" sean chuckles before turning his body to face me.
"nothing. i was just thinking." i turned my head back up to the ceiling.
"about what?"
"it's not important."
"y/n...you know you can tell me anything."
"i know."
"then tell me what's on your mind."
"what do you see me as?" i asked turning my body. we were now facing each other.
"umm...as my best friend duh."
"that's it?"
"i see you as my little sister too."
ouch.
"okay." i got quiet after that. sean raised his eyebrows.
"y/n what's wrong?" sean asked as he sat up.
"nothing's wrong." i lied and sean furrowed his eyebrows.
"you're lying to me."
"w-what? no im not..." i stuttered as i sat up like him. i looked down at my hands, starting to play with them.
"i know when you lie y/n. you always stutter and play with your hands, like what you're doing now."
i remained silent, continuing to play with my fingers until sean lifted my chin up with his hand. he looked into my eyes. he looked worried.
"y/n what's wrong? tell me please." sean asked again softly. his voice was calming.
i thought for a moment before opening my mouth.
"i like this guy. ive liked him for a while now. but he doesn't know. as much as i want to tell him how i feel, i can't." i took a breath before continuing. "because i know he doesn't feel the same way."
"you can't be so sure of tha-"
"he told me." i interrupted. "he told me that i was just a best friend to him." i felt a tear run down my cheek. i quickly wiped it off.
sean's eyes widened. he grew quiet as he tried to process everything in his mind.
"y/n..."
"it's fine. i can't force you to like me back." my eyes were glassy. my heart was swelling. it hurt really bad.
"b-but i feel the same way towards you." i looked up slowly, sean's eyes meeting with mine.
"you do?"
"since the first day i met you, there was a spark. as cliché as it sounds." sean chuckled. "i never had the courage to tell you cause i thought you didn't feel the same way either. i didn't want to ruin our friendship."
sean continued. "i like you too y/n."
he paused for a second before opening his mouth again. "i actually love you." sean's eyes widened, covering his mouth with his hand as he realized what he had just said.
my eyes widened too as my cheeks turned to a light shade of red.
did he just say 'i love you'?
"are you for real?"
"yesh." his voice was muffled from his hand still covering his mouth. i pulled his hand apart from his face. he took the chance to intertwine our fingers together. i blushed even more at the sudden action.
"yes im for real y/n. i love you so much and im hoping that we could be more than just best friends."
"i love you too." i replied with a smile on my face causing sean to smile back. his adorable dimples showed.
