The Fool

Jungkook felt weightless in the air for a slight second. He braced himself for what's yet to come but he couldn't feel anything hitting him. Just the cold breeze and a hand grabbing on to his arm as tight as it can.

Taehyung.

Jungkook thought he was going insane right now. Maybe this is what death feels like. Maybe this was what he deserved after all. Taehyung can't love someone like him. Jungkook just can't let it happen and yet, the pair of arms never let go. Jungkook wanted to look up, He really really did but he just couldn't. His shirt was wet all of a sudden.

Tears.... Jungkook thought.

Not long after that, he heard sniffles. "Why the hell would you do this to me..." Taehyung said and cried even harder. He was actually scared to death. What if he didn't actually catch Jungkook? What would've happened then? Jungkook then quietly started sniffling and said "D-don't l-look a-at me p-please." He said his voice barely heard. 

"If I promise not to look at you then will you stay here? Will you come into my arms again?" Taehyung said while trying to hold his sniffles in. Jungkook's head hung low and he eventually nodded with a deep sigh. He thought about Taehyung and all the fun things they did together. Their moments, memories shared, even when Jungkook threw that silly tantrum on Taehyung. He remembered how he broke down in front of the older and told him about his life. As he was only holding on by a single thread (literally) He can't help but to smile to himself a little bit as he felt someone pulling him up from his fall. His head hit Taehyung's chest and warmth spread instantly. It's as if it was fate that Jungkook was still here right now. 

"Okay kookie since you don't want me looking at you, do you want to cover your face and then go home?" Taehyung said while holding the younger's waist tightly to make sure he was really still there and Jungkook muttered a quiet yes before covering his face with his hoodie. Taehyung opened his eyes and couldn't help but laugh. "What are you doing Jungkook-ah?" He said and the atmosphere instantly lightened up a bit. "A-am just covering my face. Had no other choice hyung... Don't laugh." Jungkook said trying to sound as serious as possible. The older thought Jungkook looked absolutely adorable with his hoodie completely zipped up so the older can only get a glimpse of his nose. When Taehyung thought about it, he noticed that Jungkook's nose resembled that of a button. Small, tiny and cute. Just like the boy himself and he smiled knowing he was a step closer to seeing what Jungkook really looks like. 

Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jungkook's waist and they both walked all the way back home with people staring at them weirdly once in a while due to Jungkook being... Jungkook. Once they were there, Taehyung brought blankets to the couch and decided to just cuddle for a while.

Taehyung really didn't want to bring it up but he knew he had to so he asked Jungkook in the most soothing voice possible "Kookie.. Mind telling me about your eomma?" Jungkook was suddenly tensed up and Taehyung could feel it so he wrapped his arms around Jungkook's neck and pulled him as close as he possibly could. Jungkook unzipped the hoodie a little and took a deep breath before finally starting his story.

"What you saw earlier at the park was... how she used to treat me too... She-she would treat me like I'm her s-slave hyung. I-I don't know what I did wrong. She wouldn't feed me sometimes and s-she would ask me to do everything for her. She-she even made me stand outside the pouring r-rain once because I disobeyed her, she would a-also l-lock me up in the attic until she found use for me again. S-she kept me there and tied me onto a-a c-chair...."

Jungkook stopped there because Taehyung's grip was way too tight and it made Jungkook yelp a bit. When Taehyung realised, he kissed the top of Jungkook's head while saying "Am sorry bunny. I-I just don't understand. How could someone as pure and cute as you go through this m-much pain? I just.... I can't understand. I won't ever understand." Taehyung bursted out and Jungkook took time to compose himself before saying "Maybe some of us do deserve this. M-maybe it's already written in my stars." Jungkook said as tears kept on pouring down. 

To this, Taehyung was fuming to say the least. "No. No and no. I will never accept that and that is not a fact. You are worthy of so much more and I just. I just love you so so much and I mean how could anyone not? First I thought you were just going to be a friend but you turned out to be something so much more. The stars should tell me then. They should tell me why the world was so cruel to such an innocent being like you? Tell me why they decided to betray someone like you? You never deserved any of this and I know it." Taehyung said as firmly as he could even though he felt like he wanted to cry with Jungkook. No I should be strong for him. Not cry with him Taehyung thought and held back his tears by biting his lip.

"H-how do you always come up with these things to say Taetae?" Jungkook said and clutched onto Taehyung's shirt like a lost baby. "It's not that hard kook. Not when it's you." Taehyung said while patting Jungkook's head softly. "You're really here right? I'm not dreaming right?" Taehyung said frantically after 10 minutes of comfortable silence. 

"Yes hyungie. I'm over here. Don't worry I won't leave.. I don't plan on leaving."

"Good. You fool! don't you even go considering on doing that again okay? You're mine and I'm not sharing. Not with death and not with any other thing you hear me? I Am Not Sharing." Taehyung said as he engulfed Jungkook into the tightest hugs. "Okay hyungie." Was what he heard and Taehyung kept smiling like a fool the whole day that even he forgot, tomorrow is his birthday.
