We walked up into the small town and deidara took a deep breath. "Ahh fresh canvas" i smiled over at him. Okay Dei. Ill take the western half of town and you take the east. When we are done we can meet at the hill right there to the north and decide who did the best." He shook his head vigorously and took off to create mayhem. I giggled and faced the west. I threw my arms out and my death mist swept in a straight line. Killing all in its wake. I wandered the streets until i knew that all the people in my half of the village were dead, their screams silenced. I could still hear people screaming from Diedara's side and it made a wonderful background noise as i ran through with my hand to the ground, searing the earth to make the shape i was looking for. When i was done with that i lit that portion of the earth on fire. I ran through making sure plants grew in correct areas and died in others. When i was done i went to the hill. Deidara joined me about 30 minutes later. "Done! Are you ready Kira? This is sone of my best work!" I smirked at Deidara. "Lets see what youve got." We looked over the town. I have to admit. Deidara had talent in landscape art. His half of our "canvas" was in the shape of a skull and cross bones. I could appreciate that. We looked over to my half and i scowled. I had messed up in a few places. I had never thought of this stuff until i joined the akatsuki so i wasnt practiced. It was supposed to be an archaic castle but instead it looked more like a plume cloud. "Its not that bad. I can kind of see the tower over there to the left." "that was the bridge over the moat" I spoke glumly. "When was the last time you saw a moat around a castle Kira?" "Shut up Dei. I can have my own vision." We laughed and began our journey back home.
When we did finally get back to the hideout it had been almost a week since we left and i was so ready to sleep in a bed again. I all but ran into the hideout. I went in to peins office with Dei and we gave our report. As we left Dei looked over at me and spoke. "So what are you going to do now?" "Are you kidding? Im going to go have a long awaited reunion with my bed." He laughed. "Maybe you should talk to Hidan? Youve both had time to calm down." I looked at him and smiled sweetly. "Youre so thoughtful Dei. But... Fuck Hidan." I said that last bit flatly as i turned and walked toward my room. He wasnt wrong. Its over now. I should be over it and he should be too. Im just still so irked at the way he spoke to me. Turns out it didnt matter though. Hidan and Sasori were called out on a mission right before we had gotten back, and they werent expected back soon. They were after another tailed beast. One that lived a good ways away from our current location.
