Addison's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes and tried to move. I groaned from the pain. I must have passed out when I arrived at the cave. It took me a second to remember what happened yesterday.

*Flashback*

The day had been normal, at least as normal as it could be for the only living royal white werewolf that is known. I had gone to my bedroom to take a nap because I am always tired when my mom the current Alpha Queen rushed in. I jumped since my mom was usually so busy and never came into my bedroom and asked, "What's wrong?"

She answered immediately, "The rumors of a rogue King are true and they are attacking the castle. There is too many of them and we will be overpowered." She looked really panicked, something I never saw before.

I yelled at her, "What are you doing here? You should be out fighting." I  was just worried for my people, so the disrespect could be understood by her. But instead of scolding me for being rude, my mom looked at me with sadness in her eyes.

"You know your duty. You must run, my child." I sat down. I had completely forgotten that as the white wolf in the family I had to be the one to run in case of an attack. I was to make sure that the Alpha Queen line continues forever. According to the priests also, since I was a white wolf like the first Alpha Queen, the call would work better. My dad was the next one to run into my room once my mom left.

He said, "I Know that you don't believe in the legend of the Alpha Queen, but for this, you have to. I want you to do the call. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work but it won't hurt." My eldest brother, the heir to the throne, ran in.

My brother spoke to my dad first, "Dad, we have to go. And Addison, remember the call how the priests did it, okay? With the cut to the hand for the 'Blood calls to Blood' part. I love you." I nodded, too shocked to say anything. My dad lifted me up and basically tossed me out of the window. I was in the back so no rogues had made it yet. His way of doing things might have shocked some people, but he was just getting me out of my daze. The moment my feet hit the ground I started running. I had to run!

I couldn't stop. I could hear the rogues gaining behind me. I had one last burst of speed in me. I used to make it to the cave. If I could make it there, I would seal the entrance and I would be safe. I ran even faster. I had twisted my ankle on a root but I kept running. I made it to the cave and passed out from exhaustion.

*Flashback over*

I got up slowly to see my injuries. My twisted ankle had healed overnight, but I was starving. I limped to the back of the cave where there was provisions for this situation. The call could wait a little. For food, I would be good, but it would not take long for the rogues to figure out how to get into the cave. I had to send the call and continue to another wolf pack. I had no time to waste. My wolf, Blaze, (I know what a stupid name!) was strangely quiet. I wanted to make sure that she was okay after the events of yesterday.

(Speech italic when speaking through mind-link) I ask through our mind-link, "What's up, Blaze? Is something wrong?" She just whimpered. "Seriously, what's up with you?

This time she answered, "Mate! Go back to mate!" I am just thinking what the fuck is she going on about.

"What do you mean? Where's our mate?" She just whimpered in answer. I mean like great such a big help. I just think about it. Apparently, I'm an idiot because it took me a good hour to get the big revelation. My mate was a rogue! No wonder Blaze was whimpering. I had left my mate when I left the castle. But I had to forget him for my duty. I could not be with a rogue. I will not! They most likely killed my family and friends! He wanted to control the world. If he was just a regular rogue who was not part of the rogue army, I would not have minded, but he wasn't. I had to continue on and Blaze knew that. That is why she didn't say anything before hand.

I chose to focus on something else, the Call. I would send it and continue on my way to safety, away from my mate. Fuck, this was a messed up situation! I focused my mind on the call. I would chant it a couple times to make sure it works. I mean I don't think it will, but for my family, I would try. I sat down, in case I fainted at the change in blood pressure from the wound.

I took a knife that I found in the back of the cave and started to chant, "Blood calls to Blood-" I sliced my hand. "-Like calls to like. Need calls to Need. This is my time of need, Alpha Queen." I said it a few more times for good mesure. I honestly felt pretty silly. I got up and bandaged my wound before making myself a small pack to travel with.

Once all that was done, I went out of the cave. It was time to find a more secure location and make a plan to restore my family to the throne. There were no certainties left, but I promise that I will find or avenge my family against those blasted rogues!

*Meanwhile somewhere in Africa*

Isabella's P.O.V.

The last ten thousand years have been pretty tough on Carson and I. I saw all of my pack die and my kids too. If Carson hadn't been with me, I would have gone on a rampage killing everything, including the Moon Goddess (MG). MG and I get along still and she sometimes gives us visions to see what packs he should visit to help. She is also helpful in blocking any pregnancies I might have. It is very hard to get pregnant when you're a werewolf. Most women never do, but as Alpha Queen, I can. Now, I was supposed to be dead, so giving birth to very powerful babies was out of the question.

Our duty was to wait until someone sends out the Call. What a dramatic ass name! Until then, Carson and I roam around, switching from pack to pack, to help out some. I have been on every continent in the world and every country. Right now, I was in Africa. The Royals there made a promise to me that I could wander their territories unharmed for eternity. This immortality deal has had an affect on Carson too. I mean everyone we cared about is dead, so what is there to live for? But let's think positive.

There have been rumors of a rogue King trying to take over the throne. If it is true, I will get the Call any day now. That is if they still believe it and try. I hope they do, I cannot help until they ask or I get there. I was staying at the Desert pack for the next two weeks hopefully until moving on.

Carson was at the top of a nearby hill in wolf form, staring at the sunrise. I was in human form and I walked up to him.

In a soft voice, I asked, "Is everything okay?" He looked up at me and smiled the best he could in wolf form. I smiled back at him and we just enjoyed each other's company in a comfortable silence.

Suddenly, I felt the most excruciating pain in my head. I fell to my knees. There was a voice in my head yelling at the top of their lungs,

"BLOOD CALLS TO BLOOD. LIKE CALLS TO LIKE. NEED CALLS TO NEED. THIS IS THEIR TIME OF NEED. THE CALL HAS BEEN SOUNDED. THE CASTLE HAS FALLEN. ALPHA QUEEN, IT IS THE TIME OF YOUR RETURN." It stopped just as suddenly as it began. I saw that Carson had shifted into human form with clothes on, benefit of my powers and our mate bond.

He looked worried and asked, "What happened Izzy?"

I smile at him before answering, "The call has been sounded." Carson looked happy at the idea of being useful again.

He questioned me, "How do you know? Do you know where? We should go, shouldn't we?" I stopped his questions with one look. Carson looked at me sheepishly, "Sorry, I got overexcited."

I replied quickly, "Me too. I have the direction." I point towards the coast and North America. "It is that away."

"Okay, good! We need to leave this morning. If we do leave now with their private airplane, we can make it to North America by tomorrow morning. I will go talk to the Alpha and make the arrangements. We cannot leave our people without support for long." He ran towards the compound at full speed.

I was happy that we were called, but I was worried at the gravity of the situation if they called us. In over ten thousand years, the werewolf Royalty has been in all sort of situations, but none ever so desperate that they would try a legend. Carson and I needed to be there yesterday! Even so, I started to walk back towards the compound with a smile on my face.

The first Alpha Queen was back in business!
