One more time

Chapter 8

Addison's P.O.V 

I had a dear in the headlights look when Isabella called me up to speak. I was freaked and stressed. I know technically I was an Alpha Royal, but as the youngest, I never had to do anything or give any speeches. Now, I am talking to the other werewolf Kings and Queens. No pressure! 

Izzy had told me she would help me with everything, but I think her teaching style is different. For her, she would throw a toddler in the deep end of the pool to teach him how to swim. That's exactly what she is doing to me. 

As I stepped into view, King Jones of South America spoke up, "What is the meaning of this, Princess Addison? Last we were informed is that there were rogues overrunning the castle." 

I took a sip of my water and replied, "As you all know, my family is prepared for such situations. I am the one who is meant to escape in the case of an invasion. I made it pretty far too-" 

Impatient, King Sergei Ivanov of Russia interrupted, "That's not the question we asked." 

I glare at him, "I was getting to that before someone rudely interrupted me. As you all know, there were rumors of a prophecy of the first Alpha Queen. The original secret is treasured by my family. It included a Call in our time of need. It is a long shot, but I tried it. I didn't have an immediate effect and I continued on my journey. I was later cornered by some of the Rogue Army. Isabella and her mate Carson intervened, saving my life." 

King Phillipe Smirnov of Asia and Antarctica scoffed, "And you expect us to believe those lies?" 

I turned to face him, "I am under the impression that the most dominant wolves can sense the truth from the lie. Try me and tell me I am not telling the truth. Maybe you are not dominant enough to have such a trait?" 

Phillipe was annoyed at my insult, "I can and you are telling the truth." 

I cross my arms, "You see!" 

Queen Grace Aust of Australia intervened, "Princess Addison, you may believe that Isabella and Carson are the first Alpha Queen and Kings, but that does not make it true." 

I look at each of the present Royals in the eyes, "You obey the Alpha King and Queen throne, yes?" 

"Of course," they all answered in sync. 

"You respect that throne?" I ask. 

"Yes," is their answer. 

I state my case, "In that case, I am the only representant of this throne currently in this room and the only free. This makes me your superiors, not the other way around. You have no right to lecture me. If you were truly in this room, you would feel Alpha Queen Isabella's authority. I believe and you all must too." 

They bow their heads in submission and give in, "Of course." 

I smirk proudly, "Good, now that we are all on the same page, we need to plan to retake the castle." 

Also smirking, King Lucas of Africa said, "First off, I told you all so." 

Isabella make a reappearance, "I can be of help now that you have settled your differences." 

King Jacques of France muttered, "Did we?" 

Isabella gives him a sharp look, "Don't start, Jacques. You are just like your ancestor, arrogant and can never accept when you are wrong. If you ever disagree with me, I would like to fight you without weapons or claws. I can assure you I will win. I created the Alpha Queen throne to be a light in the darkness. You do not get to sully it with your attitude. Goddess, I thought the European Kings would have improved by now." 

I grinned at her little speech. It was only then that I noticed Carson was in her shadows. It is quite funny. He is so powerful, but everyone forgets him in his mate's shadow. He notices me staring at him and waves to me. Both of them were incredibly powerful, but Carson's only priority is to protect his Queen. King Jacques was sulking now, he is really childish. 

Lucas of Africa grinned, "I knew there was a reason I liked you, Alpha Queen Isabella. What's the game plan?" 

Isabella shushes him, "In a couple minutes, there will be a small army attacking this pack." 

Alpha Oliver interrupted, "Excuse me, but I need to know how to prepare my soldiers." 

She waves off his concerns, "I will handle them. Get everyone in your underground bunkers and let me do my thing. It will be fine. And once I have dealt with them, I will return to the castle with Addison and my mate. I have a plan to make the Rogue King surrender." 

I ask, "What is the plan exactly?" 

Carson answers instead, "To be safe, no one besides my mate and I will know. We are scared that the Rogue King has plants among us or in this technology." 

King Sergei of Russia nodded, "Smart, very smart. I trust you three to come back in one piece hopefully in victory. " 

I smile, "Me too." 

Just like that, we terminated the hologram call. I collapsed into the chair and sighed loudly. Now, that it was over the situation had been overly stressful. I don't want to be Alpha Queen at all, maybe I do but only if I can be like Izzy.  

The three of us are just sitting in chairs when Alpha Oliver rushes in, "Alpha Queen, we are under attack."  

Izzy stood up and said, "Okay Oliver, protect Addison. Carson, back me up. Addison, you can watch from in here. How many rogues?" 

"Over fifty," reported Alpha Oliver. 

Carson whispered to her, "If you get hurt, I am going to be mad." 

She teases him, "Of course you will be, I keep you on your toes." 

I chuckle at their dynamic. They seem so young despite having been alive for over ten thousand years. I would not want to be immortal, it would kill me to see everyone dying around me while I was helpless to stop them. 

I catch Izzy's arms right before she leaves, "Good luck!" 

Isabella smirks, "I don't need luck."
