Meanwhile in the forest somewhere near the castle and the cave

Addison's P.O.V.

I had left the cave this morning and I have been walking most of the day. The rogues seem to have returned to the castle and have stopped searching for me. I mean I think so.

My mate must not be that powerful because he is nt searching for me. Not to sound cocky, but for male wolves, a mate is more important so my mate would go crazy searching for me. I felt bad for leaving him. He might just be a little misguided and I could have helped if not for the mission. Blaze, my wolf, was ignoring me out of spite for leaving my mate.

What bothered me the most was the fact that my mission was to continue the Alpha line in case of an attack. That meant mating someone other than my mate because he was on the attacker's side. This adds the additional problem, it is already hard to get pregnant, but it is even harder to get pregnant with someone who is not your mate. This would cause problems to my mission which means it basically fails. Fuck! Well, I guess there is still the old legend with the first Alpha Queen.

I continued walking in human form until sunset. I stopped at a waterfall. There was a natural cave behind it. This was the path that mom, dad and I designed in case I had to run. The cave had some necessities in it and could protect me during the night. I tried to contact Blaze but I only got a whimper in answer.

I sighed, this could all wait for tomorrow.

*Next morning*

I woke up the next morning right after sunrise. I was well-rested and repacked my provisions before heading out. I couldn't stop at the pack right next to us because that is where the rogues would look for me first. I needed to make it to the Forest Growler pack. The current Alpha and Luna were my childhood friends. From there, I would leave the continent and make a plan to get back the throne. Easy peasy if nothing goes wrong.

I continued walking a couple more hours and everything was going well. Until I heard the howls. I shifted immediately into my white wolf and took off at full speed. I recognized the howls as the ones from the attack on the castle. There were rogues after me! Maybe my mate was powerful after all. Fuck!

I ran in one direction until I saw two humans. They must be nature enthusiasts to be out this deep in the forest. I switched directions to make sure they were not put in harm's way. There was a chance they were not humans, but I would not take the risk of putting a potentially innocent person's life in danger.

I ran some more, but the howls kept getting louder. I wasn't losing them, shit! I tried running even faster. But I ran into a dead end. Only I would have done that! Idiot, I'm an idiot. I tried running back the way I came, but the rogues blocked me. Fuck! The one who I assume was trhe leader of the group shifted.

He said, "I am Blake. I know you are Addison. Your family is worried about you. Don't you want to come back home?" How old did he think I was?! I am not stupid! It is obvious that this is a play to get me back easily into the hand of the rogues. When I didn't answer his little speech, Blake's eyes hardened.

He told me, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. We outnumber you. There is not way out."

It was then when the two humans that I had seen earlier cam walking into the clearing. I sniffed the air, never mind, those were werewolves. I think the rogues were shocked at the audacity of the duo. You usually never interfere in other wolves' business unless you have a death wish. They were all glaring at them, but it didn't faze them at all.

Instead the woman grinned and said, "Who ever said there was no way out?"

I hope their interference doesn't get them killed.
