the soft music drowned itself in namjoon's ears, the lyrics almost soothing to the silver-haired male. the whole drive namjoon didn't look once at the messages left by his friends; even yoongi and hoseok who hasn't spoken to the boy in a while. he kept his focus on the icy road ahead of him, trying his best to remember the directions to the cabin.
yep. a cabin. that was namjoon's choice. it's actually a really nice, modern styled cabin that his family used to vacation in when christmas rolled around; now it's vacant and empty. there hasn't been much action up there lately. namjoon never understood why though, it's a very well-kept house.
pushing the unimportant thoughts from his head, he finally sparked up when he came across the driveway of his childhood vacation home. everything looked so neat from his perspective. everything he could see through the windows was untouched, the front yard decorations tidy and well ordered. he finally parked the car at the front, sighing as he laid back in his seat. he was completely exhausted from the draining road trip he endured. the cold air was visible to namjoon as he exhaled, notifying him that he would have to go shopping for some winter clothing in the morning.
stepping out of the car, namjoon gazed up at the ethereal sight above him. breathtaking, it was absolutely breathtaking. he had never seen so many stars above him; combined with the mountain view the cabin was set in front of, it was a scene he would never forget.

stepping inside, the tall male looked around in wonderment. he hasn't seen this decor in years. he instantly became nostalgic, seeing visions of him and his cousins running around as kids and doing only what he could describe as trouble. he smiled slightly as the memories came flooding back to him. he really wished he could still be that outgoing, carefree kid he used to be. he had no idea what changed him. namjoon only remembered waking up one morning and never smiling since then. it was like he went to bed joyful and woke up a broken shell of what used to be a human.
the slight smile was quickly wiped from his cinnamon skin at thatmemory. he shrugged it off and continued up to the master bedroom. his fingers grazed along the wall and the photos of him and his family as he went up the stairs; the family he hasn't spoken to in years. namjoon never really realized how much he isolated himself from them. everything just became a blur to him.

sitting there and soaking in his favorite tv show friends wasn't doing anything for namjoon. he needed something else to relieve himself of all the stress and anxiety he had gained the past few months. another lightbulb moment. namjoon didn't even bother turning off the tv or anything, he just rushed to the front door and wrapped his coat around his black turtle-neck tightly.
stargazing. that was what he needed so badly.
even if the snow was so bone-chilling cold, namjoon still remained all snuggled up in it. he just lied there, forgetting every piece of sadness that swarmed him back home. this is exactly what namjoon needed, peace. an isolated cabin where he could let go of all his worries and stress, and the constant reminder that he wasn't happy where he was. and for once in a very long time, namjoon smiled. his pearly-white teeth were finally exposed for the world to see.
to be completely honest, namjoon's smile was more breathtaking than the stars aligned above him. his dimples now free from their cage. he was beautiful himself, everyone knew it; that's why it was so heartbreaking to never see his alluring smile.
not only did namjoon have the pleasure of feeling himself smile but someone-very far off in the distance- had the pleasure of seeing it.
it does sound creepy, not going to lie. but the elegant soul that watched over the tall elder meant no harm. in fact, it wanted to become a lot closer to namjoon. to confront him on its wishes and desires to be with him. however, it couldn't find the courage to do so, at least not yet.
