she was an aquarius,

at 4:36 a.m.
she had the constellation along her rib
except the stars were small hearts
symbolizing the holiday that she could call
her day.
"i'll buy chocolate and roses, for valentines. . .
and then all the rest, for your birthday." i had spoke
we had been watching this really dumb rom-com,
but she liked romantic comedies.
maybe i'd start liking them too.
she could only smile, and nod
because she wouldn't admit it
but she enjoyed the thought of being spoiled
of getting attention
of being someone's entire day
little had she known,
she had been my entire day since
she'd been my entire night.
