Hi! This was, a super emotional journey for me actually, and every part is less than 200 words.
If you didn't read the summary, or weren't prepared for the short story after the vague summary, let me explain.
This is a short story in the form of freestyle poetry, so, if you want to come back and be like, "everything is lowercase, this isn't grammatically correct" or "this isn't poetry"... You're wrong and I really don't care. Also, if you're confused about the title, its because the MC mentions that her tattoos are "imprinted on his heart / imprints on her body", sooo tada.
This takes the perspective of Cole Jefferson, who comes to know and fall in love with young Mira Grant, even though no actual names are said, that's because I want this to have an ambiguous feeling for the reader. If you don't want them to be named Cole and Mira, then change them, I... don't care what you do. I also made the last two lines of the last part past tense for a reason, so... you can think of an ending for yourself. They lived happily ever after, Mira left to travel like she had wanted to, or one of them passed on. You do you.
As stated in the summary, this was inspired by the song "Show and Tell" by Said the Sky ft. Claire Ridgely, but that wasn't the only song I listened to while writing this.
I also listened to;
"Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi
"I Can't Make You Love Me" sung by Dave Thomas Junior, while the original is by Bonnie Raitt
"Clean Eyes" (acoustic) by SYML
These are incredibly songs, and I would highly recommend listening to them.
Alright, I hope you enjoyed
